I like to say that Information Architecture is one of the intersection between Product Managers and Designers. It is a structural plan that helps users navigate a product with ease. The goal is to make them easily find whatever they may be looking for.

An effective information architecture boils down to one core idea- Aligning your content with the information that's most important to your audience. That's why home pages are the hardest to copywrite. Home page is probably the only page that caters to a broad audience with similar goals. Media companies Unlike a use case page that leads with industry-specific messaging, a home page should project a value prop statement that combines the common interests of companies across industries. Depending on the size of the project, a website could have only 5 pages and a blog, or it could entail hundreds of pages and blog posts. That is why having a clear architecture to guide the website visitor to find the exact information they need is key. I always make sure that the website, even if small, has a clear architecture that ensures that it stays well-organized once it grows.

IA is the conceptual and practical structure of a given application or site. Now solve those problems. Write labels or titles that users would expect in a menu, create pathways to highly used pages and make the user's experience as easy, seamless and intuitive as possible. All it takes is a little bit of logic to organise common elements, some understanding of how people want to use a site, and some thought about reducing any unnecessary clicks. Also, make sure you include backdoors and loops for the Google bots to crawl the site.

This question makes absolutely no sense, whatsoever. UX research happens because you need to find things out. You either need to discover new information - generative, formative research - or evaluate something you've created. You don't "apply content strategy and IA" to your UX research. It's like UX word salad. This is the problem with UX. The terms are absolutely baffling to everyone, so much so that the AI-generated nonsense that other people have commented on this question is about as useful as asking the difference between 'user journeys' and 'user flows'. Ideally with users, but in starting businesses the lack of users may be a problem to do this, but you can (and should) do your research also with competitors, look for benchmarks at your niche and specially use communities to help you, they have a lot to offer! Second: you MUST understand your audience and think HOW what, where and how they look for the type of business you're offering. Third: IF possible personalize and the highest level available, this certainly will make the difference.

What I'd love more businesses to understand is that a good user experience will leave the user, and potential customer, feeling positive about their interaction with the brand. This, in turn, leads to conversions, often more than higher pressure sales tactics that rely on poor UX. It's better to focus on the user first and the sales funnel second - but a good UX designer will help you find a way to balance both.

My best piece of advice is that you are rarely building something for someone like you, so you need to consider that when you design a solution. How wide are you casting the net before making assumptions that might be exclusionary?
