1) First, learn the basics of SQL (how to Create Tables, how to Insert, Update, Delete and Get Data from tables, normalization). 2) Get Docker. Choose a database to play with (any of Postgres, MySQL, Oracle) and run one in a container. 3) To go even further, make an app that uses your containerized database. You will learn how to create and manage tables, how to structure your data, and even some stored procedures to leverage workload off your app.

First we have to go through Basics DDL,DML,TCL, JOIN and normalization .After that we have to start Solving problems by ourselves .the more analytics we do with the tables and column .the more we improve . We have to also focused on the Query performance also when it's taking more time .The more we practice , the more we grow.

I started with minimal knowledge of sql server database like creating tables. Learning from seniors, colleagues and searching google for websites like sql server central, sql server tutorial and c-sharp corner helped learn user defined functions, triggers, loops and many more. Now even AI tools can help you learn the databases in a more efficient way.

Well, in the past I've taken two approaches: 1. Purchase a certification book such as one for MS SQL Server and do the exercises to understand database operation and theory. 2. Purchase a book that such as "PHP for the Web: Visual QuickStart Guide 5th Edition" by Larry Ullman which has complete chapters on integrating database technology with web development. These two methods have been instrumental to learning outside of job and actual hands-on production code and development.

It is very easy to be drowned online with an ocean of blogs and resources on this topic. After I read an article , I asked myself What exactly are the problems trying to solve or add value for and specifically into what database ecosystem issues? What are the specific solutions recommended? Has the author determined more issues or tradeoff from his or her solutions? How can I actually apply this or try this out practically? How experienced or endorsed is the author in this particular topic?

Blogs help more when we know the basics. They are more organized and to the point. some good blogs really help a lot like improving the existing skills. We want to improve database performance, query performance. creating structures. Blogs play a big role in our daily lives.

As for me, blogs and podcasts give you some special information or solve some particular cases. So it is important to follow podcasts that have experience and/or proved solutions. Otherwise you can waste you time. And of course, blogs and podcast are very important when we talk about developers, manufactures or vendors. Sometimes it may be the only way to get news and updates in time.

Reading posts on Medium has been a valuable learning experience for me. What I appreciate the most is the real-world perspective that many authors bring to their articles, sharing not just theoretical knowledge but also practical applications and best practices from their own experiences. I also see huge value in youtube videos along with blog posts. You actually see the queries being run live or approach towards designing the tables help you better understand how to kickstart without having to figure it out from blog texts or broken screenshots.

I always read books with pleasure. But you also need to understand, that information in the books are not fresh and updated. It takes time to write, prepare and publish a book. And for example in IT everything changes so quickly that it is impossible to keep book knowledge fresh. But at the same time published books give you any kind of assurance

Reading books and eBooks has been a deeply enriching experience for my learning. Unlike articles or video tutorials, books provide a comprehensive look at a subject, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the topic. The logical flow from basics to advanced concepts helps solidify my understanding and build a strong foundation. eBooks add an extra layer of convenience, as I can carry an entire library on a single device and easily search for specific terms or concepts. Additionally, the ability to highlight text and make annotations aids in retention and quick review. Overall, books and eBooks offer a focused, in-depth learning experience that I find both rewarding and effective.

Referring to Books is not everyone's cup of tea. Instead what you can do is, 1) List down the important topics to learn 2) Take one topic at a time and read only that specific topic with example. Having an example is mandatory. 3) Work with the given example practically. 4) Use the same in your situation and see the output. This might be the best way for all those who can not read books.

For beginners, using examples from books and ebooks and frequently rewriting the basic SQL commands, such as SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, and DELETE, will help with understanding and memorization. This is where forums or help sites come in to save the day. Personally I can say that many times when I have felt stuck or confused by a problem that I can't solve or when I have a doubt about how to do something and I don't know how to carry it out, I have found the answer in one of these sites. Undoubtedly, being a database developer it becomes imperative to know how to perform not only good queries in databases, but also on the Internet.

Stack Overflow and Reddit are life savers when it comes to debugging errors specially with databases. When are following any course or online guide that might be outdated you will probably face an error that you can't explain, but checking what others have done via reddit or stack overflow will allow you to understand the reason behind the error and fix it. Always try not to post a new post on stack overflow if unless you can't find any similiar issues, or all relevant solutions didn't work. If you need to write a post always try to list down all the things you tried, and all relevant frameworks and library versions you are using along with what operating system you use.

Well online learning, books, blogs all are good sources of learning, but when you want to ask questions, you cannot beat forums and Q&A sites, they will provide you opportunity to ask questions and allow you to clarify your understanding or confusion about databases.

Database replication or sharding should be your last resort when it comes to scaling, and you should have a very sound reason to do so. You can go very far with a single vertically scaled database instance using proper indexes, data denormalisation and other methods.

SQL has been around a long time, but languages come and go. Focus on understanding data, how it relates, how it could get big. Normalization and Performance is the tougher skill to learn and requires the most practice. So once you've looked through all the courses teaching you with their content, look to your own life for you're own content that you understand. Build a database of books you want to read, how would you find one to pick up given a mood? Build one of movies you want to see, how do you quickly add a new one when you see a cool preview? Build one of food your family likes, what did it go well with and what didn't work so well? Build them, play with them, learn which you had to refactor and why. Then put it out there for others.

Many undergraduate database courses taken by computer science majors do not show enough of the application of databases. Taking a software engineering approach can help. In the community college where I teach, we have the students design and build a database each. We are careful to say that it is not a "database project" but it is a "database for a project" so they consider how the design must integrate with other software, the hardware, and the business users. But learners shall always learn the full picture and fine details that answer to the full picture.
