Usually confidence has roots into proven facts in the past. The more that you have been confronted with challenges and succeeded the more confident you would be for future challenges. It may be things that you have done in the past that gives you confidence that you can overcome the challenges that are in front of you. The trick is it does not have to be the exact things. You could have been successful in leading in University a student organisation. The success should make you more confident that you will do a good job also in leading a team of engineers. The trick is you can transfer also confidence like that.
