That is a problem no doubt about it, but here, we have to re think in waht is it the important and the urgent, then to me, we have to adapt the short term goals in a way to align it with the sustainability, this without doubt, shuld be at the top priority Then if we have a problem now, we have to be honest and declare it, not ingnoring it, but with a clear road map on how we are gong to solve it

Short Term pain for the long term gain? Make sure the goals are clearly communicated including the current manufacturing goals. Chart a step by step process to demonstrate how , who and when each if the goals can be/would be achieved by and find the point where there may be a conflict Now focus on the conflict and either reassign the team or add more people to the team to insure each goal can be accomplished as planned and share with the broader team.. More you educate and train the team members about short term and long term goals with clear path and responsibilities assigned, better the chances of achieving the both. As such while you are seeing the short term manufacturing goal but also cruising along to achieve your longterm goals.

Question seems to be aimed at owner of the company. Now the company was setup to produce products which maybe harming long term sustainability directly by products or byproduct which is disposed off in a way that would harm sustainability then obviously the company needs to shut down. Products like cigarettes or plastic products harm environment. Automobile companies are also responsible for environmental damage. So also livestock products. But there is no way to stop them making these products. So question itself is redundant and requires global effort.
