For me finding the right balance has always been by knowing my target audience, their needs and designing the outfit with a combination of the new trends and using a fresh fabric which is of less maintenance. I have always believed in designing outfits which one would want wear them again and again.

Don't overdesign! I've learnt through all my personal and course projects is that we as designers tend to lean towards adding every new technique/color/concept into one collection or garment. This makes the overall visual and functionality overwhelming making them messy and confusing. It's completely natural and is a sign of growth! How to fix it? Pick out the unavoidable - Is a certain shade giving justice to your concept better than others? Keep it, thrash the rest. *Don't attach yourself to the project* - Important! Keeping an emotional distance from each project allows you to think rationally. Stick to the core - Remember what you began with. It's easy to deviate; stay on track to make your idea shine through. Happy designing!

From struggling designers to fast fashion controversies, the problems in the fashion industry are enough to make even the most experienced of fashion veterans want to throw in the towel. If you look at the last few years, the fashion and apparel industry made a lot of headlines for all the wrong reasons in the last few years – from sweatshops in developing countries and greenwashing sustainability claims to zero-hour contracts and burning excess inventory. Fashion businesses have faced a lot of criticism recently, but this feedback can also work as a catalyst for brands to improve their practices and stay competitive in the face of challenging industry problems.

The balance of the fashion creations it’s to know your target audience very well. Be interest in what people are talking about your products and also you should try them yourself to identify how would be your own opinion as a consumer. Sometime we want to innovate so much that we forget the quality and comfort need to be part of the concept as well, if that is your target audience, I love the phrase “old is gold” because everything that has already successfully surpassed the timeline it is worth being revived in new forms, materials but keeping the essence that have gained the people.

The inspiration of my collections is a mix of contact with the fabrics and focusing my creativity on the root of the concept that I want to reflect in each design. Trends and personal style always help that process.
