I started blogging in 2009. And for months I didn't tell anyone I had a blog because I wanted to know if I would do it consistently. I blog about books, reading, mentoring, work and career because that's what I know. I'm an avid reader and I read to learn. I was a ghost blogger for corporate clients and their niche was work and career. When you write about what you know, it makes it easier to find topics to write about. After you've written your blog post, you have to promote it. You can do so on social media and on Flipboard. It's also important to tell people about your blog when you network. You can monetize your blog through ads, sponsored posts, and affiliate marketing. I only do affiliate marketing.

The other thing is that I love to update the look of my blog every two to three years and it's also easy for me to find themes to purchase. I use Medium to publish article but not as a blog.
