Popularity is not always equal to the value it gives. - You go to a shop and buy the most popular chocolate but that might not fit your tastebud, not always because it's bad but due to difference in taste. In the same way, you don't need to look for most popular ones to learn, instead, follow those accounts that you really like over period of time, those who made you feel relatable and you can find value in their thoughts.

If the goal is learning from the social media, finding the right people that aligns with your goals is the biggest thing. So, here's what I did when I started out on my journey: 1. Identified my niche and the top creators in the same niche. 2. I joined the groups where writing was the main topic. 3. Comment sections of these top creators are real gem. You can find tons of questions and answers there and they can definitely help you out. 4. Listening to podcasts is the real game changer. Writing podcasts are gem. 5. The best information can be found in blogs and newsletters of top creators.

Following the right people can completely change the way you consume knowledge online. They can set you on a path of learning so effectively and even apply those learnings with ease (because they put up actionable advice a lot).

Follow the ones that resonate the most with the writing styles that you would want to model or emulate. 💡If you do follow accounts, engage with the content creator and other followers as well! Comment, like, share and discuss with other fellow writers - you will learn a lot from them, and content creators do respond to your queries, too.

Follow who offers what you want. Instead of saying follow relevant accounts, I'd rather say follow who offers what you need or want. It is your search and not the media's search. Search them out yourself, and figure out if you can get what you want from this person, if not move to another. The fact that you didn't choose a particular person does not make the person irrelevant. It only means you're not a part of the person's audience. Find who you can identify with. I mean, identify yourself among the person's audience and then stick to them.

Comment WITHOUT an intention. DM to maintain human relationships. Build a community. Focus on networking. Ask questions, clear their doubts, help them solve a problem, that should help you make a difference.

It is important to engage with their content. When I say "their", I mean those whom you searched out on social media. Engaging with their content is not only about reacting and sharing. Read what they have for you, and practice it. Some of them give a call to action. Engage in it if it's suitable for you. Attend their organized programs, join their conversations, and ask questions. Do not feel left out. Follow them closely and be careful not to divert your attention. You can also check who they recommend and see if they suit your demand.

Online groups, forums, and communities are the #1 way to get great feedback, interaction, and suggestions from people in your industry or niche. Besides Facebook, Linkedin, and Reddit, also consider Youtube, Patreon, and Discord!

Expand your network. Join a wider network of writers. Do not belittle anybody. Somebody might have just what you need. Join groups with useful information. Read people's contribution, discuss with other writers. Stay updated. Learn new perspectives.

💡Knowledge without action will not get you anywhere. You can follow all the content creators, enroll in all courses, watch all the webinars and read all the books...but you need to practice what you learned. 💡You can do this by creating your own content, joining writing competitions or forums, and so much more. The important things is to take action with the knowledge you got.

This stage is so crucial in learning from other writers through the media. Create your content. This is the period where you put together all you have learnt from those you have followed. Be natural. You should create your pattern. Create what works for you. You don't have to follow the ways and pattern of those you've learnt from. If you do you'll live their lives and not yours. Create your content with every form of naturality, knowledge, and willingness to become better.
