When you’re swamped with technical support deadlines, it can be easy to just push through but this can lead to more problems over time. Remember, you are a human, not a robot! Recently I implemented a break rota for my team where any urgent tasks that cut into their breaks can be re-assigned provided that there are sufficient handover notes.

To make time for self-care while managing tight technical support deadlines, I’d prioritize tasks by urgency and impact, focusing on critical issues first and delegating or postponing less pressing ones. Using time management techniques, like the Pomodoro method, ensures regular breaks to recharge without losing productivity. Setting boundaries for work hours helps prevent burnout, and leveraging tools like automated responses or knowledge bases can reduce repetitive tasks. Dedicating time for personal activities, even if brief, like exercise, hobbies, or relaxation, ensures mental and physical well-being, enabling me to perform more effectively in the long run.

When you’re swamped with deadlines, it’s easy to forget self-care. But even a few minutes can help. Block out small chunks of time in your calendar for breaks—whether it’s a walk, stretching, or just breathing exercises. Prioritize tasks by urgency, and delegate if possible. Set realistic boundaries: let your team know when you need focus time. Don’t skip meals or sleep—both are key to staying sharp. Remember, taking care of yourself boosts your productivity in the long run, so find quick moments to recharge throughout the day.
