If you cannot get by without the asset or system, and it stores/transmits/processes confidential info, it's going to be really important. There are a lot of great attack-vector resources out there today that are tremendously beneficial, such as the MITRE ATT&CK framework. If you know what you're protecting, you can create different scenarios of how those important IT systems and assets might be attacked. Scenario-based tabletop testing is a great way to think through common attack vectors and how those attacks might harm your organization. Assigning Impacts (how impactful to the organization would it be if this attack vector were to occur?) and Probabilities (how likely is it that this attack does occur - without considering your current cyber controls) is another good step to help identify the most risky attack vectors.

Start by considering which assets are most at risk and the possible methods an attacker might use to exploit vulnerabilities.
