Coppola didn’t spend $120 million on “Megalopolis” to make an ordinary film in an ordinary fashion, as the 85-year old auteur still dreams of a bright future for cinema.
Coppola’s most ambitious movie since “Apocalypse Now” screened last week and is now in talks with buyers.
"I think when Francis [Ford Coppola] did his longer version of 'Apocalypse Now,' it was worse than before," Schrader said.
"It isn't a nostalgia piece," Luhrmann said of the film starring Austin Butler and headed for Cannes this year.

Eggers also described editing the film as one of the most painful experiences of his life. "Without control," he said, "it's too hard on my person."
