$1.8 billion: Investment in The Dalles since the data center was built in 2007.
$2 million: Total in investments that benefit Wasco County schools and nonprofits.

Google works with local organizations to sponsor several community events each year, from promoting science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education to helping small businesses get online.

Google is committed to making the internet better for the environment. As part of this effort, we invest heavily in renewable energy. In 2011, we invested over $100 million in the Shepherds Flat Wind Farm in Oregon, which has the capacity to produce 845MW of energy — enough to power more than 235,000 homes.
