Welcome
Google is proud to call Chile home to one of our data centers.
In September 2012, we announced our plans to build a data center in the municipality of Quilicura, near Santiago, Chile. The data center became fully operational in January 2015, and is one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly data centers in Latin America.
Over the course of our construction and operations, our data center investment has created numerous jobs in a variety of roles, and we work hard to support the communities in which our employees live and work. We estimate our long-term investment in the site will be over $290 million.
Why did Google choose Chile?
Chile offers an ideal combination of reliable infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and a commitment to transparent and business-friendly regulations. Chile also fosters an atmosphere of innovation, and has developed cutting-edge policies and programs that encourage the growth of the internet.
