Welcome
Google is proud to call Virginia home to two of our data centers.
In 2018, we announced plans to construct a data center complex in Loudoun County, Virginia. In 2019, Google finished construction on the first phase of two data centers in the county, reflecting a $1.2 billion initial investment and establishing a long-term commitment to the region and state. Our data centers employ a number of people in a variety of full-time and contractor roles, including computer technicians, engineers, and various food services, maintenance, and security roles.
Why did Google choose Loudoun County?
Loudoun County has the right combination of energy infrastructure, developable land, and available workforce for the data center.
