Welcome
Google is proud to be building a data center in Alabama.
In April 2018, Google officially broke ground on its $600 million data center in Jackson County, Alabama. Now a fully operational site, we've created over 100 jobs onsite in a variety of full-time and contractor roles, including computer technicians and engineers as well as various food service, maintenance, and security roles. We work hard to support the communities in which our employees live and work.
Since 2016, we've invested more than $600,000 in local schools and nonprofits, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through partnerships, events, and programs.
Why did Google choose Jackson County?
Jackson County has the right combination of energy infrastructure, developable land, and available workforce for the data center. We are looking forward to being a part of this community for many years to come.
