Shift by Wire - SbW

Ficosa's Shift-by-Wire System’s embedded technology uses the latest generation of automated shifter systems by replacing all mechanical connection with the gearbox to improve the perception of operation "Haptics" whilst enabling autonomous driving mode.
 

Actuators

Ficosa has extensive expertise in the development and production of shift-by-wire systems. By utilizing a driver command in conjunction with a compact electromechanical actuator and the electronic control unit (ECU), located in demanding environments such as the transmission and engine compartments, these systems enable the precise movement of the gearbox, driveline or transmission axis in conventional ICE, hybrid, or electric vehicles, to grant Safety Vehicle Movement but Vehicle Locking, following Cybersecurity drive either Pay per Drive services.
