Santiago Loza was born in Córdoba, Argentina, in 1971. His first feature film, Extraño (2003), received the Tiger Award for Best Film at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. He later directed Four Women Barefoot (2005), the experimental film Ártico (2008), the documentary Rosa Patria (Special Jury Prize BAFICI 2009) and The Invention of Flesh (Locarno Competition 2009). The Lips (2010), co-directed with Iván Fund, was selected for the Festival de Cannes (Un Certain Regard Award for Best Performance to the three actresses) and won the Best Director Prize BAFICI. In 2013, La Paz was screened at the Berlinale’s Forum section and received the Best Film Award in the Argentine Competition at the BAFICI. His last film, Si estoy perdido, no es grave (2014), won the Best Film Award in AntofaDocs. Apart from his work as a film director, Santiago Loza is a playwright and writer.
