Confirmation is to baptism what growth is to generation. Now it is clear that a man cannot advance to a perfect age unless he has first been born; in like manner, unless he has first been baptized he cannot receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

This booklet is designed to assist the confirmand, their parents, and their sponsors in a helpful guide for a more thorough understanding of the Sacrament of Confirmation, what exactly they are professing, and what they are receiving! More importantly, I might add, this booklet is designed to assist with what they can and should do as a Confirmed Catholic!
We need to consistently recall, remember, and understand that it is because of the Sacrament of Confirmation that we are established in our relationship more deeply to God the Father and united more firmly to Christ. The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit through the laying of hands and Sacred Chrism increases within us our relationship with the Church and, more importantly, with Christ.
