INTRODUCTON
(Meet the Invisible Doctor within)
The miracle of self healing occurs when the inner patient yields to the inner physician
–Vernon Howard
• Miracle - An operation of universal laws
Following story shows how you can be the maker of miracles: -
"A little girl, Kavita, went to her bedroom and pulled out a jar from its hiding place in the closet. She poured the change out on the floor and counted it carefully three times. Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap, she went out through the back door and made her way to the next street to a medical store. She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her some attention but he was too busy talking someone.
Kavita twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. Nothing happened. She cleared her throat with the most disgusting sound she could muster. No good. Finally, she took a coin from her jar and banged it on the glass counter. That did it!
What do you want?
the pharmacist asked in high tone of voice. I am talking to my brother from London whom I have not seen in ages,
he said, without waiting for a reply to his question.
Well, I want to talk to you about my brother,
Kavita answered back in the same annoyed tone. He is really, really sick…. And I want to buy a miracle.
I beg your pardon?
said the pharmacist.
His name is Sandeep and something bad is growing inside his head and daddy says only a miracle can save him now. So how much does a miracle cost?
We don't sell miracles here, little girl. I am sorry but I can help you,
the pharmacist said, softening a little.
Listen, I have money to pay for it. If it is not enough, I will get the rest; just tell me how much it costs.
The pharmacist's brother was a well dressed man. He stooped down and asked the little girl, What kind of a miracle does your brother need?
I don't know,
Kavita replied with tears rolling down her cheeks. I just know he is really sick and mommy says he needs an operation. But my daddy can't pay for it, so I want to use my money.
How much do you have?
asked the man from London.
Twenty- five rupees,
Kavita whispered. And it is all the money I have, but I can get some more if I need to. Well, what a coincidence,
smiled the man. Twenty five rupees is the exact price of a miracle for your little brother.
He took her money in one hand and with the other hand he held her hand and said; take me to where you live. I want to meet your brother and parents. Let us see if I have the kind of miracle you need.
That well-dressed man was a surgeon, specializing in neuro-surgery. He performed the operation without charge and it was not long before Sandeep was home again and doing well. Mom and dad were happily talking about the chain of events that had let them to this place. That surgery,
mom whispered. What a real miracle! I wonder how much it would have cost.
Kavita smiled. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost; twenty-five rupees plus the faith of a little child.
A miracle is the operation of a universal law. Here a strong healing vibration from the invisible doctor of the little girl led to the coincidence of all events and miracles happened. Miracle happens when our inner invisible doctor is awakened with full faith in the healing with universal law.
• Universal law of healing- Peace, Selfless Love and Happiness
A thought becomes an extremely potent healing force when it springs from a peaceful mind. A focused thought that springs from the deeper recesses of our mind, in a moment of grief, despair and dire need, or compassion has the ability to turn and trace a path within one's consciousness, to reach a place that is the source. The human consciousness has a capacity to expand and mingle with the universe. This thought is called strong healing vibrations of invisible doctor. Since time immemorial, human beings have turned in moments of suffering and joy and addressed their thoughts or desires to what they have named God or the universal law. This entity of absolute power is the centre of every consciousness.
The mind is a powerful instrument of consciousness. It is like a yoyo, in the habit of throwing out thoughts in accordance with deeply ingrained habits in memory bank (Subconscious mind). These repetitive thoughts generate waves in the consciousness. When the same waves of powerlessness, loneliness, irritation or superiority are produced again and again, it becomes a pattern or a web in which an individual is trapped. And then he wonders why me?
If you are unhappy with any aspect of your life, the only path that would lead to change and happiness is by understanding the pattern maker – your subconscious mind. The mind has to be understood in order to conquer.
There are two aspects to conquer the vicious pattern of mind. First, understand the negative habits of the mind and consciously substitute them with positive ones. Second, train the mind to formulate thoughts that are in accordance with your deeper and higher self. A thought is a vibration with force and energy behind it. It can move, fly, travel and pervade. In a way, it is with you and yet everywhere, specially where your intention wants it to be. Besides keeping an ever vigilant eye on your negative thoughts (hatred, self-righteousness etc) an individual would enhance his own power by harnessing positive and powerful thoughts in the direction of the choice of Invisible doctor.
Every day we see birds in the sky. They do not sow seeds, neither they harvest nor store the fruit or the grain. Still, they are always happy. They do not even think of the future. They have no tension or stress. We, therefore, would also be prudent if we avoided thinking and worrying about what we will wear, eat and drink tomorrow, and get ourselves stressed. If we learn to live for today, tomorrow will be lively and lovely. It is not that we should not have money. We must earn money through noble means and hard effort. At the same time, we must be satisfied with what we have. We must give more importance to constructive and creative thinking and not become victims to our emotions and feelings which may be prompted by jealousy, hatred, revenge, dislike, selfishness and so on. Those who are thoughtful and truthful will always be happy. Be the proud owner of pretty, nice, beautiful, pleasant, lively, lovely and enthusiastic thoughts.
We would like to share a few thoughts, which are basic truths of life, sprouting from the basic life principles: the real values in life. We need to balance wisdom and feelings. What is wisdom? Basically, it means living by the principles of natural laws. It is applied knowledge. It is also the law of selfless love. Basic principles are universal. They transcend culture and geography. We should not be overtaken by momentary feelings and emotions. We should focus on the reality of life at all times. There is always a space between a stimuli and response. Let us use that space to respond intellectually, creatively and constructively. Let our actions not lead us to disappointments, distress and defeats.
Basic life principles are timeless, they never change principles such as fairness, kindness, respect, honesty, integrity, service, compassion, empathy, sympathy and so on. At the back of these principles is the master or the invisible doctor - the conscience. Conscience is the still, small and peaceful voice within. It is the voice of the inner invisible doctor. It is the intuitive mind containing the moral law within. It teaches that the ends and means are inseparable. As Gandhiji said, Through unprincipled, unworthy means, the ends will turn to dust
as is expressed in his following observation:
Wealth without work, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without character, commerce without morality, science without humanity, worship without sacrifice, and politics without principles will turn to dust.
• Concept of Invisible doctor or inner physician, mind and soul is beyond modern science
The concept of inner physician, mind and soul is a complex phenomenon, beyond the scope of modern science. Since science is basically concerned with the physical universe, it deals with matter and not with spiritual. Hence, modern science is not capable of explaining the truths of life beyond matter. There is a tendency to reject whatever cannot be understood through materialistic reasoning and logic. Occasionally, what cannot be explained in normal life is also attributed to God, the supreme power.
There are two channels in the acquisition of knowledge. One is the knowledge gathered through the five senses. This knowledge is limited in range and is gross in content. As long as a human being is alive and continues to remain world-oriented, one can only experience transient happiness. Our association with the world is because of the physical body. The human mind remains steeped in sensuous pleasures and completely ignores the purpose of our incarnation. It is high time for our dormant mind to awake now.
What is perceptible only through the five senses is incomplete. The other channel, through which the awakening and enlightenment of the mind take place, lies beneath the normal mental awareness. Logic and normal reasoning do not bind it. By activating the standard software of the subconscious mind (the intuitive mind or conscience), the truth of life can be perceived.
What is difficult to understand by the normal mind can be understood through the intuitive mind or the conscience, which we call the Invisible Doctor
. Albert Einstein had admitted that his theory of relativity was gained with the help of the intuitive mind. Rational knowledge is limited to the five senses while intuitive knowledge goes beyond. The vast reservoir of rational knowledge possessed by the most learned persons today fails to explain the truth of life and the solutions to life's problems.
The soul's or the self’s real friend, and a perfect guide for complete health is the Invisible Doctor (inbuilt virtues in the intuitive mind or conscience). When we are soul-conscious, the original qualities of truth, peace, love, joy, purity, power, and bliss as well as secondary qualities of divine virtues naturally emerge on the screen of our mind as thoughts, desires, visions, feelings and so on. Due to the interconnection of the primary and secondary qualities, by focusing our attention or intellect on any of these qualities, for a period of time, we are able to change the state of our consciousness, enabling us to enjoy holistic health and happiness.
• Two doctors inside the subconscious mind: Mr. Killer Doctor and the Invisible Doctor
We have a speculative immune system of the invisible doctor that knows how to discriminate between a friendly bacterium and an unfriendly one, a carcinogen or a chemical.
When we are with the Invisible doctor and feel tranquil, our body makes a tranquilizer similar to the one drug which companies make. When we are exhilarated, our body is making immune modulators that act as powerful anti-cancer drugs. These cells of our immune system, which protect us from cancer, infectious diseases and degenerative disorders, also have receptors or chemical messengers that are the material equivalent of thought. The immune system is a circulating nervous system. It is intelligent and is moving around in the body so we can't have a thought, or feeling, or desire without our immunising cells knowing about it.
When we are with the killer doctor and feel anxious, our body is making jittery molecules and they are not just made in the adrenal glands; they are made everywhere in the body. When we have the vague impulse of intelligence in our awareness, the immune cells are listening and making the same chemicals the brain makes when it thinks. The immune cells are conscious little beings with their own notions, their own intelligence, and their own emotions.
This may sound esoteric, but these are scientific facts. We have a thinking immune system that knows how to discriminate between a friendly bacterium and a harmful bacterium, between a carcinogen and a harmless chemical. When your body encounters a bacterium, even if it has never encountered it before, it remembers the first time any human encountered that bacterium in the evolutionary history of the species, and makes the precise antibody for that bacterium. We have an inner pharmacy of invisible doctor that is absolutely exquisite. We just name it and the body can make it in the right dose, at the right time, for the right organ, with no side effects, and all the instructions are contained in the package. This capacity demonstrates profound intelligence, and in fact our whole body is made up of this field of
