      I wrote this short guide amid the Coronavirus pandemic of early 2020. Foremost a human tragedy, much has been written of the medical horrors of this disease. I discuss how businesses are being decimated, economies are shrinking and morphing. Shared here, in response to these challenges, is a simple system to rethink your small or medium sized business, or business unit. I address what to do now, what will change in future months and years, and how you can respond and strategize afresh.

      This book is full of predictions. Some of these are likely to be correct (because they are already in motion). Some of the prognoses are more speculative (and are noted as such). But the real purpose of all this prediction and speculation is to get you thinking about new futures for yourself, your communities and your business. You gain a deeper, clearer sense of what is changing and why. You then build an insightful plan for the coming months and years.

      We are at a turning point. Resilient and nimble minds and organizations will become those best able to serve their communities in coming years. The time for fresh thinking is now. The current pandemic is forcing us to reconsider who we are and what we value. We will, hopefully, rediscover our better selves, with stronger communities and organizations.
