From The Author

Why I wrote this book.

I have Written this in the hopes that it might give some insight and hope to others that are now having or have gone threw the terrible struggles that we are sometimes confronted with in married life and that it might encourage them to trust in God and deny the means that Satan uses in his attempts to destroy our marriages and families.

How God saved our marriage by answering my prayer when I was faced with an impending divorce by finding and correcting my personal shortcomings as a husband while giving me things in my mind and heart to put in writing to send to my wife.

A wonderful true story of heart ache and blessing, A must read for both men and women, married or not.

    WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK

I have Written this book in the hopes that it might give some insight and hope to others that are now having or have gone through the terrible struggles that we are sometimes confronted with in married life and that it might encourage them to trust in God and deny the means that Satan uses in his attempts to destroy our marriages and families.

Psalm 23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepare a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

James 1:2 - 7: My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers’ temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Note: The things in this book and many others were sent to my wife while we were separated after 43 years of marriage.

At age 64, in the late summer of 1999, being married for 43 years with 5 living children and 14 grandchildren, one day it seemed as though the devil himself had moved in to destroy our lives together. As a husband, I had never considered divorce or separation as really something that would ever happen in my life. Don’t get me wrong, over the past 43 years my wife and I have had plenty of disagreements and arguments over various situations as I am sure most married couples do. But divorce! Not on your life.

Then one day unexpectedly I was alone and confronted with a notice that my marriage was to be over and divorce was imminent. Then the good news came! In the state of Colorado, you cannot contest a divorce proceeding. You can only by law, contest the monetary settlement and child custody issues. Thank God, our children were grown and we had little financial worth.

    What could I do?

Being a good problem solver and fixer up of things, or I thought I was, I tried to contact my wife and convince her that we could work things out. The next exciting thing that happened was a restraining order prohibiting me from making any kind of contact with my wife including phone calls. Pretty exciting wouldn’t you say?

If there are any kinds of hell on earth, I think there are two the separation of a person from God, secondly a man or woman separated from their mate and or family.

As a Christian, I decided that I could not only get the brothers and sisters (other church members) to pray for me, but I could ask
