WINNER of the EDGAR AWARD for BEST NOVEL and #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!

In a high-suspense race against time, three of the most unlikely heroes Stephen King has ever created try to stop a lone killer from murdering thousands. “Mr. Mercedes is a rich, resonant, exceptionally readable accomplishment by a man who can write in whatever genre he chooses” (The Washington Post).

The stolen Mercedes emerges from the pre-dawn fog and plows through a crowd of men and women on line for a job fair in a distressed American city. Then the lone driver backs up, charges again, and speeds off, leaving eight dead and more wounded. The case goes unsolved and ex-cop Bill Hodges is out of hope when he gets a letter from a man who loved the feel of death under the Mercedes’s wheels…

Brady Hartsfield wants that rush again, but this time he’s going big, with an attack that would take down thousands—unless Hodges and two new unusual allies he picks up along the way can throw a wrench in Hartsfield’s diabolical plans. Stephen King takes off on a “nerve-shredding, pulse-pounding race against time” (Fort Worth Star-Telegram) with this acclaimed #1 bestselling thriller.

Such a great book. Can’t wait to read Finders Keepers. King is still king of the dark and always will be.

A very enjoyable departure from King's scarier works. This mystery felt like something Michael Connelly would write except with a lighter tone than Bosch. The characters were very well-written and the plot kept moving and kept me interested. I will definitely read the other books in the series.

I started reading this under assumption that this would be a Suspense/Thriller novel. There was no suspense and whatever thrill there was, it was not enough to warrant any more than 3 stars.
The plot of the book is very straight forward with no surprises. There were lot of references to American culture and American TV shows that were difficult to understand as a Non-American reader, but overall the reading experience was good.

Gripping story, great characters, that are introduced late in the narrative but still have the ability to grow on you. Great narrator too

This is a fantastic story. I look forward to reading more of the “finders keepers” related books.

A note on the audio. Although the narrator is well spoken and read, the volume is wildly variable. Numerous times I had to turn the audio all the way up, only to have it blaring a sentence later. I would have given 5 stars if not for that. Thanks.

It started out slow, and I almost quit the audiobook, but I continued listening. It turned out to be great. There's lots of curse words, which I dislike, but if you can ignore that, I think you'll enjoy it.

I loved the dialogue and character development in this book. I really appreciated the flawed characters and self awareness they possessed as well. Excellent plot. Loved the narrator as well! 5-stars!

Not your normal Stephan King, but I fell in love with the characters.. I came here after giving the tv show a chance, so I could listen to the audiobook and hear what actually happened in the writers head. (I listened at work)

Excellent. For those that like tangible and realistic plotting this one is highly believable. Enjoyed it as much or more than Billy Summers... Mr. Paxton did a nice job also. Another one that makes a movie play in one's minds eye. ?

Great story, interesting and unpredictable to the end. Great pace and lovely, deep characters. It was a fresh experience with enough of Steven King's usual style to make for a unique read.

Deep, masterfully well developed characters. You will want more of this trio!! A nail bitingly tense, suspense filled story told from both sides. On one side you have the good guy that is so relatable. On the other, King takes you so deep into the twisted mind of a psychopath. An outstanding read (listen)

Good God, can Stephen King write a book or what! I loved everything about this book, especially the raging sick psycho Brady and the squad of 3 that chase him to a thrilling end. They were all wonderfully written. Thank you, Mr. King, for showing that people with mental illness can be heroes for themselves and others.

Excellent read. Shorter and far more straightforward than a typical King novel, with not a single supernatural element in evidence, this felt a bit off-kilter but is probably the closest thing to a "normal" story Uncle Steve has written in many-a-year. Hugely enjoyable & highly recommended.
