Agatha Christie’s legendary sleuth, Jane Marple, returns to solve twelve baffling cases in this brand-new collection, penned by a host of acclaimed authors skilled in the fine art of mystery and murder
One doesn't stop at one murder...
Jane Marple is an elderly lady from St Mary Mead who possesses an uncanny knack for solving even the most perplexing puzzles. Now, for the first time in 45 years, Agatha Christie’s beloved character returns to the page for a globe-trotting tour of crime and detection.
Join Marple as she travels through her sleepy English village and around the world. In St Mary Mead, a Christmas dinner is interrupted by unexpected guests; the Broadway stage in New York City is set for a dangerous improvisation; bad omens surround an untimely death aboard a cruise ship to Hong Kong; and a bestselling writer on holiday in Italy is caught in a nefarious plot. These and other crimes committed in the name of love, jealousy, blackmail, and revenge are ones that only the indomitable Jane Marple can solve.
Bringing a fresh twist to the hallmarks of a classic Agatha Christie mystery, these twelve esteemed writers have captured the sharp wit, unique voice, and droll ingenuity of the deceptively demure detective. A triumphant celebration of Christie’s legacy and essential reading for crime lovers, Marple is a timely reminder why Jane Marple remains one of the most famous detectives of all time.
Editor's Note
Top crime writers…
Mystery and murder are afoot in these thrilling short stories featuring Miss Jane Marple, the star of over 20 bestselling Agatha Christie novels. The unlikely detective is reimagined by some of today’s most prolific crime writers, including Lucy Foley (“The Paris Apartment”), Ruth Ware (“The It Girl”), and Elly Griffiths (“The Locked Room”). Modern elements add an entertaining spin but never detract from The Queen of Crime’s classic character.
Agatha Christie
Agatha Christie is the most widely published author of all time, outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare. Her books have sold more than a billion copies in English and another billion in a hundred foreign languages. She died in 1976, after a prolific career spanning six decades.

Readers find this title to be a collection of short and clever mysteries that capture the essence of Miss Marple. The stories are authentic to Christie's writing style and incorporate important Marple themes. The prejudice against her gender and age adds depth to her abilities. While there is one dud story, the overall audio production is stellar. Fans of Miss Marple will enjoy these well-crafted murder mysteries.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Don’t miss this! It’s incredible. The authors truly captured Miss Marple’s essence. I could tell that they immersed themselves in Marple to write these stories. Every story sounds authentic to Christie’s writing style; the authors emulate her rather than trying to recreate the wheel. But they also find ways to incorporate their own interests and visions.
I loved the way the various writers brought out important Marple themes. The Miss Marple of these stories is just as cynical and sharp as ever. The prejudices that people have against her gender and her age make Miss Marple’s abilities all the more impressive, even moving. Indeed, the insidious nature of prejudice plays a role in several of the stories, in ways that acknowledge the stereotypes found in Christie’s work while also demonstrating that her work can still be valued.
There was only one story that was a dud for me. All the rest are solid, and most were outstanding. The audio performances are perfection, not surprising given the talented actors chosen.1 person found this helpful

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Perhaps it is sacrilegious to say it, But I found the collection on average to be as good or better than some of Agatha’S .

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So great! New stories with Miss Marple. I especially liked the various authors versions of Miss Marple and the mysteries to solve.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Only the Dame. herself, could fully and correctly, portray Miss Marple. In many of the stories, not all, she became merely a reason for the authors to be published.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Only fair book. Silly stories. Ms.Marple is a pest! Boring.
