■ Prior to Atari’s coin-op game, Parker Brothers released its own take on for Atari’s home systems: the 2600, 5200 and, the game presents two scenes that recreate the space skirmish from the film’s conclusion. Taking control of the Millennium Falcon, you first have to blast Imperial ships while waiting for an opening to briefly appear in the Death Star’s energy shield. If you manage to pass through the shield, you’re warped into range of the space station where you have to chip away at its outer defences until you hit the core (this is a bit like the boss battle in ). At this point the Death Star blows and you have to avoid flying chunks of debris that vomit all over the screen, before the whole thing starts over.
