Purpose of the Role

We are on the hunt for an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Content Distribution Editor to assist our content management team. This exciting opportunity is open to those passionate about content creation, digital media, and distribution strategies.

Working closely with our Content Distribution Editor, the Assistant Content Distribution Editor will be responsible for helping to unleash the full potential of the Daily Mail's multimedia output, with a focus on video and podcast content. This role ensures a balanced distribution approach across all the Daily Mail channels and platforms.

Successful candidates must be able to understand needs of the business, attend editorial conferences, and maintain clear records of our future podcast and video schedules. An aspect of the role is to assist in providing insightful reports on various content performances, aiding in the development of our publishing strategy. 

 

Role Objectives:

  • Work with Head of Content Distribution to plan, execute and manage tailored marketing plans for all new and existing DMG podcasts
  • Advocate for and enable placement of podcast content across owned-media channels such as Mail Online
  • Liaise with social, video and editorial teams to ensure podcasts and shows are coverage to the best of their ability across the Mail-ecosystem
  • Manage the podcast and shows hub and ensure all titles are up to date
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure a plan is in place for all podcast launches
  • Produce regular reports on listening trends and provide analysis
  • Identify and explore ad-hoc opportunities for podcast growth (events, awards, festivals, TV, etc)
  • Liaise between production team and key stakeholders to ensure they are up to date with the current shows schedule and have access to the assets needed to promote these (social assets, documentation, audio, etc). 

 

Key Skills:

  • Prior experience or keen interest in content distribution, digital marketing, or similar roles.
  • General awareness of current trends in print/digital media landscape.
  • Good understanding of diverse content distribution platforms and their workings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in using analytics tools to understand content performance.
  • Some knowledge of SEO best practices and principles is preferred.
  • Creative thinker and problem-solver. 
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines
