Ben Affleck fears he is 'one errant remark away from being cancelled'.
The 52-year-old actor - who split from his wife Jennifer Lopez earlier this year - made the confession in a joint interview with his pal Matt Damon as they discussed setting up their Artists Equity production company.
He told Deadline.com: 'We're all subject to this sort of insecurity in this business. Whether we're actors or directors or writers, the phone could stop ringing for us ...
'This is the only thing I can count on, this upfront money. I don't know when this might go away.
'I'm one errant remark away from being cancelled, or I'm one movie bomb away from never working again, and I've got a family and so forth.'

Ben and Matt's company aims to create fairer pay schemes and Ben admitted his life as in Hollywood is never certain because he's always at risk of losing everything.
It allows artists to invest in the projects they are making so the profits can be split in a more fair way and Ben admitted he wants to end the days of A-list stars making huge money even if the studio makes a loss on their movie and he offered his flop 2003 movie Gigli as an example.
He explained: 'I've been in movies like 'Gigli', that's a famous example. I got a big cash payday for that. Well, it doesn't feel right in retrospect because they [the studio] lost money.
'It wasn't the biggest money-losing movie in history even though it was the most famous bomb in history, perhaps. Nonetheless, that doesn't sit right with me.
'But it also doesn't sit right with people when they go, wait a minute, we all sacrificed to be committed to this. And then the old story about the $10 million movie that's made $200 million and nobody's seen a nickel.'
Ben is currently going through a divorce from Jennifer Lopez after two years of marriage.
Ben was previously married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018. The former couple are parents to Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.

Despite this being his second divorce, Ben has not given up on love.
'Ben has not given up on relationships and finally feels ready to move forward and start dating again,' an insider recently told DailyMail.com.
'He is not going to jump into anything serious until the divorce is finalized but that does not mean he cannot date.'
However, the woman must either be sober or in recovery, as he is not willing to jeopardize his own sobriety.
The source continued: 'He only wants to date someone who is sober or in recovery.'
'These past two years have been tough for Ben and as he begins to heal, one thing is very clear: his recovery comes before anything. He is not going to put his sobriety in jeopardy.’
