Britney Spears is actively working on new music, according to insiders who claim preparations for the soundtrack of her upcoming biopic inspired the star to create a 'new banger.'
The 42-year-old chart-topper has only released two tracks since she was freed from her 13-year conservatorship - Hold Me Closer, a collaboration with Elton John and Mind Your Business in collaboration with her long-time friend, will.i.am.
However, a source has revealed that the hitmaker knows she needs to 'get the excitement' going for her highly-anticipated biopic with some brand new music.
'Britney is making music to be included in the soundtrack for her upcoming biopic and is heavily involved in the process,' the insider exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com.
'She will rerecord some of her old tracks to fit the film's vibe and they will also rework some of her music but for the film, she knows that she needs one new banger to really get the excitement going and this will be a song about her entire story.'

Last year saw the Lucky singer shattering bestselling records with her explosive memoir, The Woman In Me, which went on to ignite a bidding war over the movie rights.
Now, a film adaptation is officially in the works at Universal, with Crazy Rich Asians and Wicked director Jon M. Chu at the helm.
The singer is said to be putting her all into the project and has been 'meeting with various producers.'
'Everyone wants to work with her, obviously,' the insider continued. 'There is not one music producer who doesn't, she's Britney Spears.'
It comes after DailyMail.com previously revealed that the singer 'already has enough new music for multiple albums' thanks to a treasure trove of unreleased tracks.
The insider noted that Britney's excitement about the upcoming film is a sign of how much her life has turned around for the better in recent years.
'She has really been doing incredible lately and this shows,' they said. 'The film and her relationship with her boys has saved her.'
She recently reconciled with her sons Sean Preston, 18 and Jayden, 17, after working for months to mend their broken relationship.

The pop princess has only released two tracks since she was freed from her 13-year conservatorship in 2021, one of which was Hold Me Closer, a collaboration with Elton John
The pop princess had been extremely vocal in recent years about her strained relationship with the two boys, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline, 46.
Back in June, a well connected family insider told DailyMail.com that they were 'fully back on track,' two years after Jayden voiced hopes for a reconciliation with his mother.
'Britney has been speaking to, and working on, her relationship with Sean Preston and Jayden for months now,' the insider said.
'The boys have so much love for their mother, as she does for them. Things are fully back on track and they are looking forward to the future together.'
According to a second source close to the family, Britney's older brother Bryan Spears, 47, was behind the long-awaited reunion.
'Bryan was instrumental in facilitating their reunion,' they said. 'He cares so much for Britney and about his nephews.
In August 2023, Kevin, Sean Preston and Jayden moved to Hawaii, along with Kevin's wife of 10 years, Victoria Prince, and their two daughters Jordan, 12, and Payton, nine.
Britney has visited the boys several times at their home in Hawaii this year, which has been one of her go-to vacation spots for several decades.

The last time Britney performed live was on 31 December 2017 in Las Vegas (pictured performing with a snake at the The Metropolitan Opera House in 2001)
The Toxic hitmaker and Kevin got married in October 2004 following a whirlwind romance which saw them welcome Sean Preston in September 2005 and Jayden the following September.
She filed for divorce two months after the birth of their second son, before it was finalized in July 2007.
Britney then embarked on a very public meltdown, dramatically shaving off her hair and was later hospitalized for substance abuse.
By January 2008, Kevin was awarded sole legal and physical custody of their boys, just weeks before Britney was placed under the controversial legal conservatorship.
During that time, which saw her life and finances controlled by her father, Britney had contact with her sons, who she saw regularly.
But in 2022 it was revealed their relationship was extremely strained.
In her memoir, Britney relayed the eye-opening story of her rise to fame as a teen idol and the dizzying pressures she faced in the stratosphere of superstardom.
The book hit the headlines for its scathing portrayal of her romance with Justin Timberlake - including claims that he got her pregnant and then urged her to have an abortion because he 'wasn't ready' to be a father.
She also took aim at her parents Jamie and Lynn for their role in her conservatorship, which lasted 13 years before she was released by a judge in 2021, against the backdrop of a mountingly vociferous #FreeBritney movement.
The star recently baffled fans by declaring she 'married' herself while posing in a wedding dress and veil, one year after her divorce from Sam Asghari

Asghari, 30, filed for divorce from Britney last year after 14 months of marriage - and the two reached a settlement in May (pictured together in 2019)
Britney started out on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club alongside Ryan Gosling, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake in 1989 when she was just eight years old.
She then shot to worldwide stardom as a teenager with her first two studio albums, ...Baby One More Time in 1999 and Oops!... I Did It Again in 2000, which both became two of the best-selling albums of all time.
She went on to release a further seven albums and has sold 150 million records worldwide.
She last performed live in Las Vegas on December 31, 2017 as part of her Piece of Me residency.
In 2022, she said she was too 'traumatized' to return to the stage following the conservatorship.
'I’m pretty traumatized for life and yes I’m p****d as f*** and no I won’t probably perform again just because I’m stubborn and I will make my point,' she wrote on Instagram.
Since the end of her conservatorship, the star has married and split from long-time partner Sam Asghari.
She was later in an on-and-off relationship with Paul Soliz, 38, whom she met while he was doing maintenance work at her home.
