Eva Mendes talked candidly about her role as a mother after revealing the reason she may never return to acting after over a decade away from Hollywood.
The 50-year-old star appeared on an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show on Thursday as she bonded with the host over motherhood.
Eva shares two children - Esmeralda Amada, 10, and Amada Lee, eight - with longtime partner Ryan Gosling.
Drew, 49, who has two children herself asked the Hitch star: 'I felt a little lost when I had kids in the sense where I was like, I don't really know how to do that job and be other people. What was it for you, may I ask?'
Eva explained that her feelings were a bit more complex as she felt a more recent shift.

The star replied: 'Yeah, I felt, I actually didn't feel lost. I felt very clear but then I felt lost, if that makes sense. Then when it was like the cliche of like, ok, well, who am I now after, you know, the kids can survive on their own?
'I mean, they're only eight and 10 but you know what I mean? They, they don't need me every second, you know, it's a little different. But I love talking to my girls about anything so I, I feel very fulfilled.'
Eva and Drew also bonded over the fact that they both are living in an analog world as they still use paper calendars and white out.
The two stars proceeded to bring out their own paper calendars and did a cute reveal to one another.
Another thing in common is that they both save the calendars as Eva explained: 'So I save these and they act as journals. Right?'
Earlier in the episode Eva surprised Drew and co-host Ross Matthews as she came out in a Hot Dog On A Stick uniform.
The star donned the iconic yellow, blue, red, and white striped shirt with the matching brimless tall hat as she brought out food from the mall staple and two additional hats for the co-hosts.
This came after the star revealed she is hesitant to return to the big screen as she reached a 'career high' when she worked alongside her husband Ryan Gosling.

The star and her partner of 13 years Ryan, 43, fell in love while working on the 2012 movie, The Place Beyond The Pines.
Eva has since focused on other business ventures after the pair became parents and it appears she has no plans to return get back on movie sets any time soon.
During an interview with Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos on Tuesday, the Hitch actress explained: 'I don't know [when I'll return]. If there's interesting roles. I left at a time where... it was ten years ago... I kind of felt like I did it, you know?'
She then noted that her final film project with Ryan was a moment she didn't think she could top.
She continued: 'I was like, "I just worked with Ryan gosling, who is the best". It was such a high off my career to work with him and what we created together that I was like, "This is a good time to Seinfeld it and just walk out." So who knows?'
In the decade since she last graced the screen, Eva has worked on fashion and homeware collaborations - as well and writing her new children's book, Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries.
Earlier this year, the Ghost Rider star revealed that she and Ryan has somewhat of a 'non-verbal agreement' when it came to her giving up acting and being a 'full-time mom' to their two young daughters.
The Canadian actor has continued to make movies since welcoming his children, while Eva has taken a backseat.

When asked what it was like going from acting to being a full-time parent she previously told Today: 'It was like a no brainer. I'm so lucky, and I was like, if I can have this time with my children... and I still worked, I just didn't act because acting takes you on locations, it takes you away.'
Referring to how she made the decision with Barbie star Ryan, Eva continued: 'It was almost just like a non-verbal agreement that it was like, "Okay he's going to work and I'm going to work, I'm just going to work here."'
Eva has previously praised the way Ryan works on set, claiming she has 'never experienced anything like that.'
'The way he works, his commitment to his craft, how he wants to make everything as best as it can be, and that means making his costars as best as they can be,' she said. 'But unfortunately - or fortunately - there is only one Ryan!'

Eva previously spoke about the reason why she doesn't do red carpet events with the Oscar-nominee after a fan begged her to join Ryan on the awards circuit for Barbie.
'You're the best! What a cool comment; thank you,' she wrote. 'But we don't do those things together... Like these photos I've been posting, I'm only comfortable posting because it's already out there.'
She added that they only posed together on the red carpet once while promoting their 2012 film The Place Beyond the Pines.
Fans were delighted to get a glimpse of their family during the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
The Hollywood couple turned heads as they made their way to their seats to watch the Dressage Individual Grand Prix Freestyle at the Chateau de Versailles.
The doting parents were spotted holding hands with their daughters before the couple later headed to the Bercy Arena to watch the women's gymnastics uneven bars final.
