Katie Holmes enjoys 'mini' Dawson's Creek reunion with unrecognizable co-star - 21 years after show ended

Katie Holmes had the chance to reunite with her former Dawson's Creek co-star, Nina Repeta, at the opening preview of her Broadway play called Our Town on Tuesday.
The Batman Begins actress, 45 - who recently turned heads in a baggy outfit while out in NYC - jumped to her Instagram stories to share a black and white photo as the pair posed for a memorable snap together.
Holmes notably portrayed the character of Joey Potter in the hit teen drama, while Repeta, 57, played the role of her older sister, Bessie Potter.
In the picture, Katie wrapped her left arm over Nina's shoulders as they stood next to each other backstage and flashed small smiles towards the camera.
The star added text towards the bottom of the image and penned, 'Thank you Nina for coming to see @ourtownbroadway. A mini dawson's creek reunion,' followed by a red heart emoji.

In the next slide on her Instagram stories, Katie uploaded a montage of photos from a fan account that showed the pair on Dawson's Creek.
The series ran for a total of six seasons on The WB network and premiered in 1998, with the last episode airing in 2003.
Along with Katie and Nina, other stars that appeared on the show included James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams, Chad Michael Murray and also the late Odi Ndefo.
Ndefo notably passed away last month on August 28 at the age of 51 - with his sister taking to Facebook to announcing the tragic passing.
Repeta also jumped to her main Instagram page to share a series of photos that were taken during the special night as she supported Holmes.
One image showed a colorized version of the stars posing backstage, and the duo also held big grins on their faces for a close-up selfie.
The opening preview took place at the Barrymore Theatre in the Big Apple, and The Black Phone actress gave her followers an inside look at the venue and stage.
Nina also included a selfie that she took with the cast list, and pointed her finger towards Holmes' photo.

In the caption, Repeta wrote, 'Mini reunion back stage of the Broadway production of Our Town with my tv sister #katieholmes. Excellent show. Go see it!!!'
Katie has previously opened up about staying in contact with her former Dawson's Creek castmates, but admitted a few months earlier in June that she is not part of their WhatsApp group chat.
'All of us text every now and then, but I wasn't aware of the WhatsApp,' she explained to The Times.
'But you know what? I'm really bad at WhatsApp. I never check it because it's a little too much.'
Despite not using the messaging app, Holmes expressed that she still keeps in touch with other co-stars, such as Michelle Williams and James Van Der Beek, 'every now and then.'
The star continued to the publication, 'Everyone's grown up and is busy, but the bond will forever be there.'

Katie expressed, 'So there was an innocence that was there between the characters that was one of the things I think people liked about the show. To put it into the setting of today’s world, I'm not sure.'

The revival features a total of 28 actors, including Holmes, Jim Parsons, Zoey Deutch, Ephraim Sykes, Julie Halston and Michelle Wilson.
The premise follows the 'timeless tale of a small town' as 'a stage manager narrates the daily lives of its locals, depicts a childhood friendship turn into marriage, and sets the stage for magnificent truths of what it means to be alive,' per the official Broadway website.
Previews kicked off on Tuesday, September 17 at the Barrymore Theatre, with dates set to run through January 19, 2025.
