Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has issued a rallying cry to his team-mates following his side's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.

The Gunners struggled at St James' Park, with Alexander Isak's goal in the 12th minute proving to be the difference between the two sides.

Arsenal's defeat raised serious questions about their title credentials, with Mikel Arteta's side now seven points behind league leaders Liverpool.

However, the England international appears to be adamant that Arsenal have what it takes to turn matters around.

The 23-year-old, who captained Arsenal on Saturday, took to Instagram to send a message to his team-mates.

On Saturday night Saka wrote on his Instagram story: 'We stick together!'.

After losing away to Bournemouth last month Arsenal then drew 2-2 at home to Liverpool prior to being beaten by Newcastle.

Despite the difficulties that Arsenal have endured this season, Saka has still often made a significant contribution.

The 23-year-old star has scored three goals and provided seven assists across nine Premier League games.

Arsenal are back in action on Wednesday night when they face Inter Milan away in the Champions League.

Their next Premier League game is away to Chelsea on November 10.

Arteta admitted that Arsenal 'deserved to lose' against Newcastle.

The Arsenal boss said: 'We deserved to lose today. I thought we started really well and were really dominant. We didn't defend the box well enough, credit to them. They scored a great goal with a good ball.

'Then the game changes and you start to play a different game. You have to adapt and we didn't do that well enough. I am very frustrated.

'We got dragged into a game they are looking for constantly and we couldn't play the game that we wanted.

'We had two big chances — Mikel (Merino) had a big one, Declan (Rice) had a big one. We lacked answers.'
