The moment a motorist appeared to collapse back to the ground after allegedly being hit by a car driven by Alfredo Morelos has been captured on camera.

The former Rangers striker was arrested and reportedly found to have alcohol in his blood after knocking down a motorcyclist in Colombia, after he reportedly swerved into the oncoming lane.

It is thought that the Colombian made the manoeuvre to attempt an overtake and crashed into a rider as well as a truck.

Police confirmed they had arrested the Atletico National forward and that he was 'driving under the influence of alcohol (grade two)'.

Footage has since emerged from the news outlet Korraleja.co showing two individuals attending to the motorcyclist believed to have been hit by Morelos, attempting to rise but stumbling back to the ground.

A video shot from a passing vehicle shows the individual, blurred out, groggily trying to get to their feet from a prone position on the side of the road.

A third onlooker joins those helping the believed motorcyclist, as the two individuals appear to be insisting the injured person remain on the floor rather than attempt to move.

The footage also shows the extent of the damage done to the car thought to have been driven by Morelos, particularly to the front left wing of the stationary 4x4.

A motorcycle appears to be wedged beneath the nose of the car, with a pool of liquid staining the road.

The motorcyclist was left hospitalised with fractured limbs and blunt trauma to his abdomen, according to local media via Colombian broadsheet El Tiempo

Morelos himself is understood to be uninjured after the crash in his black pick-up truck, as is the driver of the lorry. Noticias RCN reports that Morelos will have to pay an initial fine of £4,100 and that his driving licence will be suspended from three to five years.

The crash happened near Jose María Cordova airport, in Rionegro, Antioquia.

Regional outlet MiOriente reports that the accident happened at around 10am local time on October 23 in an area known as the Gordo curve.
