Gary O'Neil's struggling Wolves face current title holders Manchester City atĀ Molineux Stadium.

O'Neil's outfit have had a nightmare start to the Premier League this season, picking up only one single point from seven games and sit bottom of the table heading into today's clash.

On the other hand, Pep Guardiola's City have got off to a flying start, winning five of their seven games. They remain undefeated in the league thus far.

Follow Mail Sport's live coverage below for the live score, team news, latest updates and reaction.Ā

O'Neil: 'We need to keep standing up'

Gary O'Neil, Wolves boss, speaking to the BBC:

[The players are] down as you would expect.
For all the hard work that has gone into that, to then leave with hard luck stories feels like a big blow of course.
I was very critical of them at Brentford. Today was a return to more like what we need to be.
It has been such a cruel run of fixtures. We need to keep standing up. We are where we are and we need to make sure we keep producing the best of ourselves.
15:47

O'Neil: 'Trying to remain calm'

Gary O'Neil, Wolves boss, speaking to Sky Sports:

I am trying to remain calm.
I have been involved in a few of those and not had many go in our favour so was expecting that outcome.
There is some grey area that can go either way and once it was like that I wasn't confident it would go our way.

15:43

Richards: 'There's a slight nudge'

Micah Richards, speaking on Sky Sports:

I would like to see a goal be given for this because I don't think there's too much contact.
But the fact of the matter is that he [Silva] is still in the keeper's way so it has affected the play in my opinion.
You want consistency as sometimes you see these given and sometimes not.
There's a slight nudge that puts the keeper off balance so he's not set so I can understand why Wolves will feel aggrieved at this particular moment.
15:38

Sturridge: 'He has affected the keeper'

Daniel Sturridge, speaking on Sky Sports:

Bernardo [Silva] has played it perfectly because heā€™s timed it. As the header has gone into the back of the net, heā€™s off the keeper.
It's like 'I've done my job but I've not impacted it'.
For me, I do believe he has affected the keeper slightly. Itā€™s the timing of the header. In the end thereā€™s too much power on the header.
I do believe heā€™s impacted the keeper's ability to save it.

15:34

What do the pundits say?

It's been a mixed verdict from the experts. Let's take a look...

15:30

Guardiola: 'Sa had perfect vision'

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City boss, speaking to the BBC:

Of course I didn't understand it. Linesman, I don't know the reason why he did it. Bernardo isn't disturbing the position.
It was difficult in the first moment. Today in modern football they starve the keeper.
In the moment what happened Sa had the perfect vision. The taker from Phil and the header were magnificent.
15:28

Guardiola: 'Joy to be here'

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City boss, speaking to Sky Sports:

We are not a team that win games right at the end but the performance there was outstanding. We have a lot of players with quality up front, but a lot of players in the box is difficult. They are aggressive, strong.
We played really good to have the chances we had. The players who came in were unbelievable and to win that way feels good. 11 players in the 18 yard box is difficult, but the composure from everyone.
We lost here last season, they were less active but I saw them against Liverpool and Chelsea. We have been in that position, when you lose at the end. But this is the game.
Both sides try to do their best.
They had a game plan and I am so proud. We played the way we want to play and it is a joy to be here, to score in the last 50 seconds and go top of the league.

Stones: 'It was a tough game'

John Stones, Manchester City defender, speaking to Sky Sports:

It was a tough game. These moments don't come often for us. We've come up with a few over the years and today was one of them.
Credit to Wolves for how they stopped us creating chances and made it difficult in the final third. We had to be at our best at the back especially with the transitions and the counter-attacks.
I'm really pleased to win it in that fashion and to get on the scoresheet again. Their points don't reflect how they're playing.
Credit also to the guy who helps us with the set pieces! We had to push right until the end.
15:24

Wolves heartbreak

Oh boy. Imagine how Gary O'Neil must be feeling right now.

He certainly made his dislike of VAR clear during his time at Bournemouth (as I saw first-hand) and it's haunting him at Wolves too.

His side fought valiantly at Molineux but to ship a last-gasp winner like that... ouch. The fallout from that will rumble on and on.

Let's start with some quotes from the City camp, shall we?

15:19

Plenty of reaction to come

Right, it's time for me to dash off. Sad, I know.

But there is no need to worry, the brilliant Dan Davis is coming over to continue the reaction.

It's been a controversial afternoon, so there is lots to get through.

15:14

Late winner initially disallowed...

Oh, now this is interesting.

I think we all believed that the goal was initially given on the pitch - it certainly looked that way to me.

Apparently not, though...

The Premier League have revealed it was initially disallowed on the pitch before being overturned by VAR.

Now that makes things even more controversial.

15:10

History-makers

Manchester City simply don't know how to lose, do they?

The champions have now gone 31 Premier League matches without being on the end of a defeat.

That's a club record and is the best from a Premier League club since Liverpool from 2019 to 2020.

Simply superb.

15:07

Should Stones' goal have stood?

Right, I'm going to chime in on this now.

I don't think that John Stones' goal should have stood after watching the replay.

Bernardo Silva clearly backs into Jose as as the corner comes into the box, he puts him off.

While he may come away from him as John Stones heads the ball, it's still enough to make a difference.

I'm surprised Chris Kavanagh stuck with his decision.

Stones the saviour

John Stones is getting a knack for this, isn't he?

That's now twice in four games that the defender has come up trumps for City with the last kick of the game.

It was one hell of a header, as soon as he rose into the air I could just see what was going to happen.

This time, Stones could go mental in the celebrations for a short period, unlike with what happened against Arsenal.

The man for the big occasion.

WATCH: Stones wins it

Right, it's time to watch the controversial goal...

At first viewing, it looks like there is nothing controversial about it.

But just watch Bernardo Silva and Jose Sa, does the City man interfere with play.

Let me know what you think.

14:57

FULL-TIME: Wolves 1-2 Man City

Manchester City have done it, unbelievable.

The game might be over but this controversy will be talked about for some time.

Gary O'Neil charges straight over to the referees, he is absolutely raging at the decision.

What an end to the match.

14:55, 97'

VAR: GOAL STANDS!

Oh my word, the goal has been given!

The drama keeps coming, Chris Kavanagh sticks to his decision despite being sent to the screen.

We almost never see that, I was preparing to write that the goal had been ruled out.

Chaos.

VAR CHECKING GOAL

Wait a minute...

I can't believe what I am seeing, Chris Kavanagh has been sent to the screen.

he is checking to see if Bernardo Silva is obstructing Jose Sa as John Stones heads in.

This would be so harsh.

14:53, 95'

Goal:Wolves 1-2 Man City (Stones 90+5')

I can't believe it...

John Stones breaks Wolves' hearts right at the death just like he did against Arsenal.

He leaps highest to head home from a corner and races straight over to the away end.

That is what champions do!

14:52, 94'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

Molinuex are not happy with their former flame Matheus Nunes.

Boos ring out as he wins the ball and then launches a counter-attack for Manchester City.

Those jeers soon change to cheers as he blazes over the bar at the end of the move.

14:51, 93'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

It's not going to happen, is it?

Jack Grealish overhits a cross and bends it straight into the gloves of Jose Sa.

Just two more minutes for Wolves to survive.

14:50

FIVE added minutes

It's officially squeaky bum time!

The board goes up and there will be five minutes of stoppage time.

Can Wolves hold on?

14:49, 90'

SUBSTITUTION: Wolves 1-1 Man City

Joao Gomes gets a standing ovation as he plods off the pitch, his afternoon is done.

He is replaced by Bellegrade for the final few minutes as Wolves try and close this out.

14:48, 89'

CHANCE! Wolves 1-1 Man City

Wolves are putting their bodies on the line here.

They scramble all over the place as Manchester City try and force the ball home in the area.

It eventually lands at Jack Grelaish's feet but he can only drive it into the hands of Jose Sa.

Time is running out.

14:45, 86'

SUBSTITUTION: Wolves 1-1 Man City

Wolves fans seem happy to see Matheus Nunez at Molineux... not.

Boos ring around the ground as he comes onto the pitch to replace Mateo Kovacic.

Imagine if he scores the winner.

14:43, 85'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

There are huge cheers as Wolves manage to muscle Erling Haaland off the ball in the box.

]The striker has rarely had a kick, it's almost like he hasn't even been playing in all honesty.

14:43, 84'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

That effort sums up this game.

Joao Gomes smashes the ball into the side-netting with almost no one around him.

His hands go to his head because he knows just how poor the strike is.

14:41, 83'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

If you have sat through this drab second half like I have, I commend you.

If you haven't and are trying to picture what it's like based on these posts, I wouldn't do it.

Football in its blandest form.

14:38, 80'

SUBSTITUTION: Wolves 1-1 Man City

Jorgen Strand Larsen goes down clutching his calf and that's going to be the end of his afternoon.

he hobbles off to rapturous applause as he is replaced by Goncalo Guedes.

It's his goal that has them still fighting for a point as it stands.

14:37, 78'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

I'm going to admit, this game has been pretty pants this half.

I am finding myself struggling to write about things, which is unlike me. I can blab for days.

Let's hope we get some drama in the final few minutes...

14:34, 76'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

Bernardo Silva is down and does not look in a great way.

He is getting some treatment after a collision with his own team-mate, Phil Foden.

It's been one of them days.

14:32, 74'

SUBSTITUTION: Wolves 1-1 Man City

That's the last we are going to see of Savinho, he is being hooked.

Jack Grealish is the winger that replaces him and he looks like he means business.

The luxury of bringing on a Ā£100million player when you are struggling must be nice, eh?

14:29, 70'

CHANCE! Wolves 1-1 Man City

Is it going to be one of those days for Manchester City?

I think it might be.

Savinho gets the ball in acres of space and once again smashes it miles over the bar.

He surely has to at least test Jose Sa there.

14:27, 68'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

Oooh, that's better from the hosts.

Carlos Forbs is already making an impact as he races away on the left-hand side as Wolves break.

His fend product is poor, though. H produces something that is neither a shot or a cross in truth.

14:26, 67'

SUBSTITUTION: Wolves 1-1 Man City

Right on cue, eh?

Phil Foden finally gets onto the pitch as he replaces Jeremy Doku. He must need another little warm-up after all that waiting.

Meanwhile, Carlos Forbs comes on for Matheus Cunha for Wolves.

14:24, 66'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

This game is starting to get feisty now, I like it.

Now it's Jorgen Strand Larsen's turn to get into a little tussle as he clashes with Rico Lewis.

It's worth noting that throughout the last five minutes, Phil Foden has been waiting to come on.

14:22, 64'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

After all that, Ilkay Gundogan bends the set piece wide.

I felt like I was waiting for that free-kick for about five minutes, it felt like an age.

All for him to miss.

YELLOW CARD: Wolves 1-1 Man City (Gomes)

Chris Kavanagh, that's poor.

The referee books Joao Gomes as he gets involved in a wrestling match with Mateo Kovacic as the free-kick is waiting to be taken.

It takes two to tango, that;'s all I'm saying.

14:19, 61'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

Oooooh, now that is silly from Mario Lemina.

He gives away a free-kick right on the edge of the area after taking a swipe at Mateo Kovacic.

It's soft, but it's a foul.

14:18, 60'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

I agree, Jack!

While it feels like Manchester City will inevitably get their goal, they aren't exactly causing Wolves too many problems.

Well, just as I say that Jose Sa smothers Josko Gvardiol as he looks set to score.

But still, my point stands...

14:15

'City nowhere near their best'

It does feel like a matter of time before the Wolves resistance falls but City are by no means anywhere near their best here. Foden in little pockets on the edge of the area might be an ideaā€¦
14:15, 57'

CLOSE! Wolves 1-1 Man City

Now that would have put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Out of nowhere Matheus Cunha races forward and makes his way to the edge of the box.

He has no options so just has a crack and his effort flies inches wide of the far post.

A great effort.

14:13, 54'

GOOD SAVE! Wolves 1-1 Man City

Just as I was slamming this game for its lack of entertainment, Ruben Dias tries to spice things up.

he is reduced to having a pop from distance, and it's a decent effort.

But Jose Sa does what he has been doing for most of the game and gets low to palm it away.

Sa is on fire today.

14:12, 53'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

This second half has not been quite as exciting as the first, thus far.

I want to report that exciting things are happening, but there is not really much happening at all, in all honesty.

Same old story, lots of passing about from Manchester City.

14:09, 50'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

It's not been Erling Haaland's day whatsoever.

He miskicks the ball as it comes his way in the box which is so unlike him.

He does not look like a happy bunny right now.

14:08, 49'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

I thought Pancake Day was in February?

Milinuex is just so flat, only a few brief chants are breaking out, but other than that the atmosphere is quiet.

They need something to make them cheer, but Manchester City are not allowing that to happen.

14:04, 46'

SECOND HALF: Wolves 1-1 Man City

Right then, we are back underway.

Gary O'Neil has made a change at the break as he brings on from Manchester City academy star Tommy Doyle.

Andre is the unfortunate midfielder who makes way for him.

14:03

'My money on City'

Anthony Hay, Mail Sport:

My money is on Manchester City going on to win this game 3-1. You could feel the momentum shift after their equaliser. Wolves have been tamed while the champions grew into the game after a slow first 10 minutes. Foden and Grealish off the bench could make a real difference!
14:01

'Wolves gameplan working'

Wolves have ridden their luck but the gameplan is working. Despite having barely 20 per cent of the ball, they created the two clearest chances of the half. Andre and Lemina are going through a ton of work in the middle and Oā€™Neil is making a change at half-time. Ex-City man Tommy Doyle is out warming up in full kit.
13:58

Long range big-hitters

Manchester City and screamers are a match made in heaven.

Josko Gvardiol's strike in the 33rd minute is their seventh goal from outside of the box already this season.

They are proving that sometimes you juts have to back yourselves and have a pop from distance.

They make for brilliant viewing, I must say.

13:56

'Gvardiol a top player'

Micah Richards, former Manchester City defender, on Sky Sports:

He (Josko Gvardiol) really is a top player, considering that by trade he is a centre-back.
13:55

Gvardiol's eye for goal

I'm going to keep saying it, Josko Gvardiol is wasted at left-back.

Whenever I watch him play, he is almost playing like a left winger. He is always so far up the pitch.

His positioning allows him to get some big chances with regularity, it's impressive.

In fact, Gvardiol's equaliser for Manchester City means he's now the top-scoring defender in the Premier League in 2024, with six goals.

The modern-day John Terry, but with tekkers.

WATCH: Gvardiol nets stunner

If you haven't seen Josko Gvardiol's strike yet, you simply have to watch it now.

You'd think he was a 20-goal-per-season striker based on the way he shaped up to shoot.

As soon as te ball left his boot, you just knew where it was ending up.

A truly sensational strike.

13:48

HALF-TIME: Wolves 1-1 Man City

Wolves do indeed hold on, just about.

The hosts look absolutely knackered as they walk off the pitch, they had to work so hard to try to hold off City in that first half.

They were managing it until Josko Gvardiol arrowed a ball into the top corner.

All-in-all, Gary O'Neil will be happy at the break.

GREAT SAVE! Wolves 1-1 Man City

What a save that is from Jose Sa!

He is proving his worth to Gary O'Neil as he keeps Wolves in this match.

The stopper gets low brilliantly to stop a low drive from Savinho nestling in the corner.

A top stop.

13:46

TWO added minutes

Wolves have two minutes to try and survive this Manchester City onslaught.

Can they manage it? I'm not so sure.

13:44, 44'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

I can't remember the last time Wolves actually carried the ball out of their own half.

The hosts have barely touched it, Manchester City have them pinned back and they just can't get out.

It would be a miracle if they hold on to this draw.

13:41, 40'

YELLOW CARD: Wolves 1-1 Man City (Savinho)

There are ironic cheers as Savinho picks up Manchester City's first booking of the afternoon.

He hacks down a marauding Matheus Cunha who tries to beat three or four City men.

Wolves 1-1 Man City

Savinho tries to replicate his team-mate... but no.

The ball rolls the Brazilian's name and he sees his name in lights just like Josko Gvardiol did.

However, he balloons the ball closer to the roof of the stadium than the net.

13:36, 36'

Wolves 1-1 Man City

I think Josko Gvardiol may be wasted as a full-back.

His catalogue of goals are just so impressive, to add that sensational strike to the goal he netted against Newcastle is crazy.

The amount of talent in that lads boots really is something else. Special.

13:34, 33'

Goal:Wolves 1-1 Man City (Gvardiol 33')

WHAT A GOAL THAT IS!

Manchester City are level through an absolute stunner from Josko Gvardiol.

He cuts inside and arrows the ball into the top right corner in spectacular fashion.

Like a striker in his prime, not a defender.

Yes, it's only the first-half, but they are defending so resiliently. I'm not sure how long it will last, though.

CHANCE! Wolves 1-0 Man City

How have Wolves survived there?

The ball is smashed across the face of goal with three Man City players lurking to smash it home, including Erling Haaland.

But none of them can reach it... I'm not quite sure how.

Haaland looks to the sky in frustration.

Wolves 1-0 Man City

It's just not going Manchester City's way so far, it really isn't.

They work the ball around the box for what feels like an age, I think I got some grey hairs it felt like that long.

At the end of it, Joao Gomes wins the ball off Jeremy Doku and then goes down and wins a free-kick.

He beats the grass in celebration.

Ah see, itā€™s very difficult not to attribute these defensive fallacies to the absence of Rodri. City have got to find a way of shoring up defensively and deal with counter attacks.

YELLOW CARD: Wolves 1-0 Man City (Semedo)

Nelson Semedo is constantly involved today, but this time not in a good way.

He gets involved in a tussle and I'm not sure I have ever seen the yellow card be pulled out that quickly.

Deserved it, though.

13:21, 19'

BIG SAVE! Wolves 1-0 Man City

How have Wolves not doubled their lead there?

I'll tell you why, it's because of Jsko Gvardiol.

Nelson Semedo is one-on-one with Ederson as the hosts break and from nowhere Gvardiol recovers to put him off.

Semedo still gets the shot away, but Ederson manages to smother him.

That is a huge, huge save.

Wolves 1-0 Man City

Molinuex cheers as the free-kick is blocked and then again when Wolve shook the ball clear.

This could be a long 75 minutes for the hosts, they are just going to be backs against the wall.

13:15, 14'

YELLOW CARD: Wolves 1-0 Man City (Toti)

Now that is what you call clumsy.

Toti falls over the ball on the edge of the box and Savinho pinches it off him.

The centre back then panics and hacks him down, earning himself a yellow card.

Now City have free-kick in goalscoring territory...

13:14

'Strand Larsen in the perfect spot'

That goal could have come straight from the Nuno days: wing-back providing width and centre-forward in the perfect spot to finish it. Raul Jimenez then, Jorgen Strand Larsen now.

Wolves 1-0 Man City

Oh dear...

Wolves' early hero is now down and struggling, he looks in quite a bit of pain.

Oh wait, just as I type that he jumps back to his feet and is ready to get on with it.

Maybe he just wanted a breather.

13:12, 9'

BIG SAVE! Wolves 1-0 Man City

Manchester City almost respond instantly.

Bernardo Silva runs onto Savinho's low cross and tries to bend home a brilliant strike.

It looks destined to nestle into the corner but Jise Sa palsm it away at full stretch. A top save.

What a game we have on our hands.

Goal:Wolves 1-0 Man City (Strand Larsen 7')

It's a dream start for Wolves!

I did not see that coming, the hosts sucker-punch Manchester Cit inside just seven minutes.

Nelson Semedo bends a stunning ball low to the back post and Jorgen Strand Larsen prods it home.

Molineuz goes absolutely berserk!

Wolves 0-0 Man City

Manchester City are squeezing the life out of Wolves already.

They pin the hosts back into their own box but just overplay the ball and can't fashion a chance.

But they recycle the ball and Ilkay Gundogan backheels the ball for Jeremy Doku to run onto.

The Belgian steams in and smashes it high and wide of the goal.

13:05, 5'

Wolves 0-0 Man City

Rayan Ait-Nouri wins his first battle against Savinho.

The Brazilian tries to break down the right but the full-back gets low and slides the ball behind for a corner.

The Wolves fans cheer, they loved that.

13:04

'Wolves lining up with three at the back'

Wolves look to be lining up in a 3-4-2-1, with Cunha and Joao Gomes supporting Strand Larsen and Andre and Lemina behind them.

Wolves 0-0 Man City

The pre-game atmosphere is already being sucked out of the stadium but Manchester City taking early control of this match.

I mean, it's to be expected. City are just going to be patient and Wolves will sit back.

The pattern has already formed.

KICK-OFF: Wolves 0-0 Man City

That music has really got me going, I'm well up for this one now.

Wolves fans will be hoping it has the same effect on their team as they huddle up before taking to their positions.

There is a huge roar from the stands as the home side get us underway.

Let's hope we are in for a cracking 90 minutes!

12:58

No pyro no party

Oooooo, there are lost fo flames as the two teams come out.

I love ti when stadiums use pyro in that way, it really sets the scene. The fans will also need it too, it's very windy and chilly today.

The Premier League anthem has now been and gone and Wolves fans are having a sing-song.

We are nearly there.

Defensive frailties

Erling Haaland could have a field day today.

Wolves have not kept a clean sheet in their last 17 Premier League games. Yep, you read that right.

They are also yet to pick up a win at Molineux so far this season. No home comforts.

Haaland will be licking his lips.

'City have explosive pace'

So Guardiola is having the best of both worlds with this selection today. No Foden in the middle, and no Grealish out wide, and in their place should see City have explosive pace on the wings but more control with his perfect ā€œfootballersā€ centrally.
12:49

Kick-off closing in

Erling looks excited, and I feel the same way.

We are now just over 10 minutes away from the game getting underway, so it's time for excitement levels to go up.

There is a buzz around the ground, this feels like it could be a belter.

Rico keeps going

Now this is impressive.

Pep Guardiola usually takes a while to trust young players, Phil Foden is a good example of that.

But Rico Lewis is now slowly becoming his go-to full-back, he has now reached 25 league matches already at just 19 years of age.

12:36

Guardiola: 'Wolves' quality is there'

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City boss, speaking on Sky Sports:

The quality [Wolves have] in every department with the players that they have, the success comes and they didn't have the start that they wanted but the quality is there.
When the international break they go to South America, the trip is long, but they have one extra day and they said they (Ederson and Savinho) felt good.
12:34

What's wrong, Pep?

I wonder what is going through Pep Guardiola's mind right now?

The Spaniard loves to have some time to himself before the warm-ups get underway, he just chills in the dugout.

Whenever I see him do it, though, he always looks deep in thought and almost certainly never looks happy.

So, come on, Pep - cheer up!

Haaland to end goal drought?

Don't worry, the subheading is a joke... sort of.

I mean, by Erling Haalasnd's standards, two league games without a goal is a drought.

He does have 10 goals in the opening seven games, though. Mental, right?

I'm sure he will be keen to get back on the scoresheet today.

Johnstone out through injury

So, now we know why there is no Sam Johnstone.

Gary O'Neil has confirmed that the goalkeeper picked up an injury during the international break.

It has given Jose Sa a chance to prove e why he should be number one once more.

Will he take it?

Shearer: 'Wolves under pressure'

Alan Shearer, former Newcastle striker, speaking to Betfair:

Wolves are under huge pressure after a poor start to the season. This is not the fixture you want to see when you are desperate for your first win of the season. I canā€™t see them taking anything from the game - City will get the three points.
You have to look at the bigger picture for Gary Oā€™Neil. If teams are showing promise and being unlucky, then thatā€™s one thing, but if you look at a team and theyā€™ve got no pattern, no understanding or confidence, then you must judge that.
However, with what he did at Wolves last season, I hope he has got a little bit of time on his side and gets the chance to pull Wolves out of trouble.
12:13

Back-to-back?

Could Wolves stun Manchester City again?

I mean, if they manage to beat Pep Guardiola's side, I will be sat in my chair open-mouthed - speechless.

Put it this way, not many people are backing them.

If they do get the three points, it will be the first time they have won consecutive home league games against City since 1996.

O'Neil: 'I have 100% faith in myself'

Gary O'Neil, Wolves boss, speaking on Friday:

We sit here seven games in with one point. If you don't look into the depths of how and why it looks like a disaster. But, if you do take the time to look into the situation and the fixtures you will easily see there is enough there to have a real clear view we can turn this around.
I have 100 per cent faith in myself and the playing group to show everyone we can compete at the level. Really confident and really comfortable I can help the group in this moment and turn things around.

Desperate for points

Wolves are in dire need of some points, they really are.

They are yet to win in the Premier League this season have lost six of their opening seven games.

Gary O'Neil's side have been handed some tonkings too, they have the worst defence in the league having conceded 21 goals already.

They can't keep going in that vain or the Championship will be at the doorstep sooner rather than later.

But, I'm not sure they will expecting to get a win today against this juggernaut of a Manchester City side.

Wolves fans, would you be happy with a draw?

'Wolves return to back three'

Looks like a return to a back three for Wolves, with Santiago Bueno in as one of two changes from the Brentford debacle. In the end, most Wolves managers post-Nuno give into gravity and go with a back three. Jose Sa returns in goal, with Sam Johnstone not on the bench.
11:55

City chasing history

We've heard this before.

Manchester City chase history every week it seems, I feel like I am always writing subheadings like this one.

They are currently 30 Premier League matches unbeaten - I know, pretty crazy, right?

If they win today, they will set a club record for the most consecutive league matches without defeat.

Only six Premier League sides have managed to go on a run of over 30 games.

It would be one hell of a feat.

Man City's midfield conundrum

I wonder what midfield Pep Guardiola is going to pick today?

Honestly, I'd find it hard to tell you with the injuries they have stacking up there.

Guardiola confirmed that Kevin de Bruyne will not be ready to face Wolves today, which is a major blow for the champions.

And with Rodri out for the season, the middle of the park is becoming a problem for City.

So, will it be Mateo Kovacic with Phil Foden? Or will Matheus Nunes start against his former side?

We will find out in a few moments.

About yesterday...

Oh boy were we treated to a cracking day of football yesterday.

We had all been desperate for the return of the Premier League during the international break and it returned with a bang.

The main talking point has to be Arsenal's loss away at Bournemouth, not many people saw that one coming, did they?

Well, I certainly didn't.

There were five red cards - a record on a Saturday in the league - 21 goals, comebacks, last-minute winners, and bags more drama.

Here are the results in full:

  • Tottenham 4-1 West Ham
  • Fulham 1-3 Aston Villa
  • Ipswich 0-2 Everton
  • Manchester United 2-1 Brentford
  • Newcastle 0-1 Brighton

City aim for revenge

The last time Manchester City rocked up at Molineux, things did not quite go to plan.

They only lost three matches on their way to a fourth consecutive title, and this very fixture was one of them.

So, Pep Guardiola knows just how hard matches away at Wolves can be.

Today, he will be looking for revenge.

I mean, it's not often his City team get done over like they did here last term, he will almost certainly want to put it right.

However, this Wolves side is so desperate for points that they will fight for every last ball on that pitch.

It's such an enticing affair, I can't wait.

Can City capitalise?

Are you all ready for more action?

I am only just about recovering from yesterday's drama-filled afternoon of action, it was breathless.

Now we are back again, though, and Manchester City will be hoping to capitalise on Arsenal's slip-up against Bournemouth.

They face a Wolves side who came into the weekend at the foot of the table with just one point.

It should be an easy game for City then, right?

Well, that's not how football works as the Cherries proved yesterday, Gary O'Neil's side won't just roll over today.

It's go the potential of being a cracking match in the West Midlands and to say I am excited is an understatement.

So, with that being said, let's get this show on the road.
