Under-fire Erik ten Hag will be hoping his side can pick up their first league win in three games, whilst Everton and Ipswich Town meet in an early bottom of the table clash which may prove crucial come the end of the season.

Other games from the 3pm TV blackout include Fulham vs Aston Villa, Newcastle vs Brighton and Southampton vs Leicester City.

Relive Mail Sport's live coverage to be kept up-to-date on all the action from the 3pm Premier League fixtures including live score, team news, latest updates and reaction.

Ten Hag quietens noise

Right, it's time for me to say goodbye.

But I'm not going to French exit on you all, I will leave you with my usual parting message, don't worry.

It's been another exhilarating day of Premier League football, I mean, when isn't it these days, eh?

Erik ten Hag's job is safe... for now, thanks to a turnaround from his Manchester United side against Brentford.

However, Russell Martin will be a nervous man as his Southampton side threw away a 2-0 lead to end with nothing.

Thank you for all stopping by, it's always a pleasure. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday.

Goodbye!

16:52

'United never do things the easy way'

It was a deserved win for United but not without its moments. They never do things the easy way.
Ten Hag's side are now up to 10th and at least this should quieten the noise around his future for a little while.
16:48

The day so far...

As always, the Premier League has delivered a brilliant Saturday of football.

It's not over yet either as Arsenal are currently in action down on the south coast against Bournemouth.

While that is ongoing, let's look at today's results thus far:

  • Tottenham 4-1 West Ham
  • Fulham 1-3 Aston Villa
  • Man United 2-1 Brentford
  • Newcastle 0-1 Brighton
  • Southampton 2-3 Leicester
  • Ipswich 0-2 Everton

16:44

A first in six

I have just remembered that it's Manchester United's first win in six games.

Boy, oh boy, did they need that. It's only their third batch of three points in the Premier League this season.

It means they climb up into the top half and now sit on 11 points.

I mean, it's not great but it's an improvement, right?

16:37

Ayew: 'An unbelievable feeling'

Jordan Ayew, Leicester matchwinner, speaking to Sky Sports:

It's just unbelievable, that's why we play football. We didn't have a good first half. Second half we got ourselves back together and attacked the game properly. It's just an unbelievable feeling.
It's a good step forward to move up the table. We're going to continue fighting and it's not going to be easy so well done the lads and everyone.

16:35

'Referee was right'

The De Ligt issue is simple. If Manchester United couldn't treat his wound adequately, he shouldn't have been on the pitch. Referee was right. United only have themselves to blame.
16:33

Was De Ligt right to be angry?

I want to do some more reaction on Matthijs De Ligt's incident as I didn't get the chance during half-time.

My opinion is pretty clear, he had no leg to stand on.

He was taken off the pitch to attend to his head injury, and protocol says he needed to stay on the touchline for 30 seconds.

It's the rules, they have been there for some time now.

What do all of you think, though?

I guess it didn't matter in the end, Manchester United got the win.

16:28

De Ligt all smiles now...

Football really does play with your emotions, doesn't it?

At the end of the first half, Matthijs de Ligt was kicking water bottles and throwing tantrums.

Why you ask?

It's because he was not allowed onto the pitch for 30 seconds due to going off with blood all over his head.

Brentford then scored and he complained at the referee despite them sticking to the rules.

Well, he is not complaining anymore. All smiles now.

16:24

Six from six for United

Manchester United love playing Brentford at home, don't they?

That's now six home wins on the trot for the Red Devils against the Bees, they always find a way.

I bet United fans wish they did it more comfortably, but at the end of the day does it really matter?

It's a results business.

16:15

FULL-TIME: Ipswich 0-2 Everton

Another day, another game without a win for Ipswich.

That's eight games back in the Premier League without victory now, and things are not looking good for the Tractor Boys.

For Everton, though, that's seven pints from a possible nine. they have finally found some form.

16:14

Ten Hag buys some time

Erik ten Hag has earned himself at least one more week in the hot seat.

With all eyes on Manchester United's performance today, it looked like the same old story at half-time.

But credit to the Dutchman, whatever he said during the break obviously lit a fire in his team.

United came out from the interval inspired and thoroughly deserved all three points.

Can they build on it now?

Well, I have asked that many times before and they haven't... so we will see.

16:11

Ayew to the rescue

I'm still in shock over the Leicester comeback, I just didn't see it coming.

The noise the Leicester fans made when the ball hit the back of the net was incredible.

Jordan Ayew's strike is Leicester's latest winner on record in a Premier League game, with the ball crossing the line in the 98th minute.

Meanwhile, today is the first time the Foxes have ever won a Premier League away game in which they had trailed by two or more goals.

Now that's what you call a fightback.

16:06

'That's the way to do your talking'

Chris Sutton, It's All Kicking Off! host, on BBC Radio 5 Live:

That's the best way to do your talking. The first goal from Alejandro Garnacho was wonderful and then Rasmus Hojlund with a clever finish. That's the level they need.
16:04

'United deserved that'

You know what, United deserved that, just about, in the end. Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund really kicked on in the second half and it should have been a bigger margin between the sides come the final whistle here.
How badly did Erik ten Hag need that having been under the microscope this entire international break? Onto Istanbul as the grind doesn't stop...

16:01

FULL-TIME: Fulham 1-3 Aston Villa

Another crazy game comes to an end.

Two red cards, four goals, and a missed penalty. It doesn't get much more hectic than that.

In the end, Aston Villa come away with all three points.

16:00

FULL-TIME: Man United 2-1 Brentford

A monster result for Erik ten Hag!

Manchester United claim all three points thanks to a comeback started by Alejandro Garnacho and finished by Rasmus Hojlund.

It's the kind of performance and result that will buy Ten Hag a lot of time. He needed that.

16:00

FULL-TIME: Newcastle 0-1 Brighton

Newcastle can't find the equaliser...

The hosts knocked at the door all 90 minutes but it just wasn't to be.

Brighton hung in there and it's Danny Welbeck's first-half strike that gives them the points.

However, the striker did go off on a stretch er in the second half with what looks like a serious back injury.

15:58

FULL-TIME: Southampton 2-3 Leicester

Is this the end for Russell Martin?

It might as well be. His side have crumbled fro 2-0 up against potential relegation rivals.

Southampton fans will leave St Mary's wondering what could have been, they were in dreamland.

Another miserable day for the Saints.

15:56

Goal:Southampton 2-3 Leicester (Ayew 90+8')

LEICESTER WIN IT WITH THE LAST KICK OF THE GAME!

This is unbelievable, Jordan Ayew completes a quite stunning Foxes comeback.

He gets on the end of a Harry Winks corner and drives low into the net via the hand of Aaron Ramsdale.

The away end goes absolutely bananas.

15:55

RED CARD: Fulham 1-3 Aston Villa (Philogene)

Now that is what you call a harsh red card!

Jaden Philogene is given a second yellow card for the softest of challenges, I can't believe it.

He trundles off the pitch, Fulham fans boo, but then he reminds them of the score.

Luckily it's late and that can't bite him in the bum.

15:54

DISALLOWED GOAL! - Newcastle

Newcastle think they have a late equaliser, but the flag is up.

Dan Burn smashes the ball home, St James' Park goes nuts, and then the goal is ruled out.

Football can be cruel...

15:51

Southampton 2-2 Leicester

Oh, my word, Southampton come so close to a winner...

The hosts go route one with Aaron Ramsdale hoofing the ball up to Kamaldeen Sulemana.

The Saints man is in, but dilly-dallies on the ball and his eventual effort is blocked by Woput Faes.

Why did he not pull the trigger sooner!

15:48

Man United 2-1 Brentford

Manchester United are trying to kill this off, but they just can't.

Marcus Rashford does brilliantly well to slide a ball through to substitute Joshua Zirkzee, but it bounces awkwardly in front of him.

The Dutchman looks like he is running through cement as he chases it and Mark Flekken leaps on the ball to kill the move.

Zirkzee is not blessed with pace...

15:45

'Crowd frustrated'

The home crowd are going frustrated by the lack of speed their side are moving the ball with.
15:45

Ipswich Town 0-2 Everton

Not much happening at Portman Road, in all honesty, hence the lack of updates.

Ipswich need something, and they need it quickly. the way this is going, though, the points are heading to Merseyside.

15:43

Newcastle 0-1 Brighton

Dany Welbeck has gone off on a stretcher.

It's really sad to see, he has been in the form of his life and scored yet another big goal today.

Hopefully, it's not too serious and he makes a quick recovery.

15:42

Man United 2-1 Brentford

Manchester United are keeping their composure here, they are still well on top.

Brentford are still giving it a go, but United seem comfortable at the back and going forward.

This is the performance they were craving.

15:38

'Hojlund magnificent'

Standing ovation for Rasmus Hojlund as United's fans show their appreciation with Joshua Zirkzee coming on in his place. Started slowly but he grew into the game and has been magnificent in this second half. His goal was a thing of beauty, too. How United badly need to keep the Dane fit (seemingly their only reliable goal threat!)
15:37

Newcastle 0-1 Brighton

This does not look good.

Danny Welbeck has gone down holding his back after a challenge with Fabian Schar.

He has stayed down and now the stretcher is coming on for him. This is a massive blow for both him and the visitors.

15:32

Goal:Southampton 2-2 Leicester (Vardy pen 74')

Just like that, Leicester are now level.

Jamie Vardy slams the ball into the back of the net from the spot and now they will go for a win.

In the space of 10 minutes, Southampton's day has turned from a dream into a nightmare.

15:31

PENALTY TO LEICESTER AND RED CARD!

Absolute carnage on the south coast.

After a VAR check, Ryan Fraser has been sent off for pulling back Jamie Vardy in the box.

Clear as day, a red card all day long. What a silly decision from the midfielder.

15:31

Goal:Fulham 1-3 Aston Villa (Diop OG 69')

Fulham are falling apart...

Lucas Digne is in down the left and swings the ball low into the danger area for the forwards to attack.

It doesn't get to them though, as Issa Diop bundles the ball into his own net.

That should be that.

15:26

Goal:Man United 2-1 Brentford (Hojlund 62')

What a goal from Rasmus Hojlund!

Manchester United complete the turnaround and it's a stunning team move.

A series of one-touch passing leads to Hojlund clean through in the box.

Mark Flekken charges at him and Hojlund just clips the ball over him and into the net.

Super footie.

15:26

RED CARD: Fulham 1-2 Aston Villa (Andersen)

Fulham's day has suddenly become a nightmare...

Ollie Watkins is in, he's bearing down on goal, but Joachim Anderson comes across to take him out.

He knows straight away where he is going and the referee sends him on his way.

An uphill battle for the hosts now.

15:26

CHANCES! Newcastle 0-1 Brighton

Newcastle simply can't score, it's crazy.

Alexander Isak is in, he should score, but no. Bart Verbruggen palms the ball away after a deflection.

Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon both then have a crack but can't turn the ball home.

I'm in disbelief.

15:23

Goal:Southampton 2-1 Leicester (Buonanotte 65')

Oh, hello...

these 3pm kick-offs are really delivering and now Leicester are making a fist of it on the south coast.

Facundo Buonanotte does brilliantly to keep the ball in the box and then somehow guides it home.

They are well and truly back in this, Leicester.

15:20

Goal:Fulham 1-2 Aston Villa (Watkins 59')

Aston Villa make Fulham pay!

I was about to report about a huge save from Bernd Leno but moments later Ollie Watkins finds the back of the net.

He gets on the end of Youri Tielemans' curling corner and guides home a superb header.

Watkins is on a roll at the moment!

15:18

GOOD SAVE! Man United 1-1 Brentford

Where was this Manchester United in the first half?

Erik ten Hag must have given one hell of a team talk because his team look inspired, especially Alejandro Garnacho.

The winger decides to have a crack from distance and forces Mark Flekken into a strong save.

This game won't end 1-1.

15:16

'Newcastle issues obvious'

Newcastle have now scored one goal (a penalty) in four-and-a-half hours of league football. Their issues right now are obvious.
15:15

CHANCE! Newcastle 0-1 Brighton

It's all Newcastle so far in this second half and St James' Park is rocking.

Alexander Isak spots Anthony Gordon in the box but the winger can't guide his effort on target.

He should score...

15:14

'Top stuff'

It’s been a very quiet game up until this point by Marcus Rashford but Erik ten Hag persists with him for moments of quality such as that ball just a moment ago to Alejandro Garnacho. That is top, top, top stuff.
United just need to see that on a more consistent basis and they wouldn’t be in the mess they are. Good noise in here now after Garnacho’s equaliser.
15:11

Goal:Man United 1-1 Brentford (Garnacho 47')

Now that's how you respond!

Just when Erik ten Hag needed a hero, Alejandro Garnacho comes up trumps for him.

He volleys the ball via the near post after being picked out by Marcus Rashford.

Game on!

15:08

SECOND HALF!

It's all happening in the Premier League today.

Four of our five 3pm games are now back underway, including the one at Old Trafford.

Will we continue to get drama?

15:08

HALF-TIME: Ipswich 0-2 Everton

Our delayed game has reached its interval.

Ipswich fans will be hopping that it never got underway, their team is having a nightmare.

Everton, though, are dreaming.

15:07

'De Ligt booted a water bottle'

Matthijs de Ligt booted a water bottle at the side of the pitch in frustration and now Ruud van Nistelrooy and United's coaches are going crazy at fourth official Gavin Ward. United conceded a corner when down to 10 men.
15:03

When it bleeds it pours

What a dramatic end to the half at Old Trafford.

I think this photo should be enough for you all to understand why Matthijs de Ligt can't be annoyed.

If he comes out for the second half, I will be stunned.

De Ligt had to come off three times in his half to get his head sorted due to all the blood. It wouldn't stop.

In the end, United are paying for the decision to keep him on.

14:58

Goal:Ipswich 0-2 Everton (Keane 40')

Michael Keane doubles Everton's lead!

I thought Keane was meant to be a defender but he has just slammed the ball home like a striker in their prime.

The ball comes his way at a tight angle following a corner and he smashes it into the roof of the net.

A brilliant goal.

14:57

United fury

I really don't understand why Manchester United are so furious.

Erik ten Hag has been booked for his protests and Matthijs de Ligt is shaking his head.

The fact he even lasted that long on the pitch is crazy, he should have been hooked due to the injury anyway.

Ten hag should be angrier at the defending from the corner because that was woeful.

United's problems continue.

14:53

HALF-TIME: Man United 0-1 Brentford

Boos ring around Old Trafford as the whistle goes.

They feel aggrieved that Matthijs de Ligt was not allowed on the pitch to defend the corner that led to the Brentford goal.

It's the law, though. His head was bleeding, he needed to get it sorted again.

United only have themselves to blame.

14:51, 50'

Goal:Man United 0-1 Brentford (Pinnock 45+5')

What a header that is!

Ethan Pinnock is alone in the area from a corner and my word he thunders the all into the back of the net.

Manchester United are moaning as Matthijs de Ligt was off the pitch due to blood pouring from his head.

But their complaints don't matter, they are behind yet again.

14:50

HALF-TIME: Fulham 1-1 Aston Villa

How there have only been two goals in this one, I do not know.

It's been a cracker at Craven Cottage and the teams go in for the interval level.

It could have been so different if it wasn't for Emi Martinez.

14:49

HALF-TIME: Southampton 2-0 Leicester

Southampton are in dreamland and they leave at the break.

Two identical goals have seen them carve Leicester apart on the south coast, they have been brilliant.

It finally seems to be clicking for Russell Martin's side.

14:47

HALF-TIME: Newcastle 0-1 Brighton

The whistle has gone at St James' Park and the fans are not happy.

It was all Newcastle in the first half but they enter the dressing room behind.

On another day, they could be clear.

14:45

VAR: NO PENALTY!

I mean, I called it, didn't I?

Michael Oliver agrees with me and the penalty has been rescinded, there will be a dropball instead.

That's the right call.

14:44

VAR CHECKING PENALTY

I'm right, VAR are taking a look at this one.

Michael Oliver has been sent to the screen and surely he will overturn this.

I will be shocked if he doesn't, I really will.

14:44

PENALTY TO IPSWICH!

Ooooh... this is a contentious one!

Ipswich have been given a penalty by Michael Oliver but I'm really not sure about this one.

Jack Clarke goes down under the challenge of Dwight McNeil, but it actually looks like he kicks the back of his leg.

Surely VAR will get involved.

14:41

Man United 0-0 Brentford

Manchester United are starting to take control now, they have found their feet.

Now Rasmus Hojlund finds himself bearing down on goal but he makes a meal of his strike and it comes to nothing.

A goal is brewing, though... I can feel it.

14:37

BIG MISS! Man United 0-0 Brentford

Oh my word, how are Manchester United not ahead?

Christian Eriksen is in, I started preparing a goal post, but he blazes the ball over the bar.

He can't believe it, the fans can't believe it, and neither can I.

That's a huge chance that has gone begging.

14:35

Goal:Newcastle 0-1 Brighton (Welbeck 35')

Danny Welbeck has done it again!

It comes against the run of play, but what a brilliant goal that is from the veteran.

He plays a lovely give-and-go and then races through to slide past Nick Pope.

Lovely, lovely footie.

14:34

Goal:Ipswich 0-1 Everton (Ndiaye 17')

Wes Burns, what are you doing?

The Ipswich wing-back makes a meal of a clearance in the box and Iliman Ndiaye poaches the ball off him.

The Everton man then unleashes on hell of a strike into the top right-hand corner to give Everton the lead.

Terrible defending but a brilliant finish.

14:34

BIG SAVE! Man United 0-0 Brentford

Andre Onana to the rescue for Manchester United.

Brentford are playing the hosts off the park here and Christian Norgaard decides he fancies an attempt at scoring a screamer.

He nearly pulls it off but Onan does brilliantly well to deny him at full stretch.

The Bees are well on top.

14:31, 27'

Goal:Southampton 2-0 Leicester (Aribo 27')

Southampton's day just gets better and better.

Kyle Waker-Peters wreaks havoc down the left again, pulls the ball back for Joe Aribo, and he makes no mistake.

It is almost a carbon copy of the opener.

14:31

'Plenty more goals in this one'

Half an hour in and this is an absolutely riveting clash. There's a basketball feel about it with how end-to-end the game is. Feels like there are plenty more goals in this one.
14:27

PENALTY SAVED! - Fulham

Emi Martinez does what he does best!

Andreas Pereira takes a deep breath, stutters, and then fires the ball low toward the bottom right-hand corner.

But Martinez guesses right and holds onto the ball. You just always back him in those scenarios.

14:26

PENALTY TO FULHAM!

Oooooh, Fulham have the chance to re-take the lead!

The ball hits the outstretched hands of Matty cash but initially, shouts are waved away.

After a VAR check, though, the referee points to the spot. The right decision in my book.

14:26

'Balloons it over'

Oh Jack Clarke what a miss! Picked out by Wes Burns in the box after a slick counter-attack, the ball just clips Clarke’s standing foot, and his shot balloons over.

14:25

WHAT A MISS! Ipswich 0-0 Everton

How has Jack Clarke missed that?

The ball bounces in his path and the least he can do it get it on target, but he can't manage it.

He leans black and blasts the ball closer to the roof of the stadium than the net.

Clarke really should score...

14:23

OFF THE LINE! Man United 0-0 Brentford

Mayhem at Old Trafford!

Somehow the hosts are not in front after a goal-line scramble ends with the ball being flicked away by Mark Flekken.

The ball bounced off Rasmus Hojlund on its way to the line but he couldn't get it over it.

14:21

'Frank super intense'

Watching Thomas Frank is fascinating. This is, whether he wants it to be or not, an audition having emerged as one of the leading contenders should Ineos elect to sack Erik ten Hag. He’s super intense even with his side on top.
He’s just had a long conversation with midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard about something he didn’t like. Just now he slapped his hands together in frustration at a misplaced pass. Stark contrast to the typically stoic Erik ten Hag we see here week in, week out.
14:20

'Match there to be won for Newcastle'

On the evidence so far, this is a match very much there to be won for Newcastle. Front-foot start, getting in behind Brighton full-backs and looking energised.
14:19

Man United 0-0 Brentford

Matthijs de Ligt is a warrior.

He may have had blood pouring from his head but that does not stop the centre-back getting back onto the pitch.

Let's hope that's not a silly decision.

14:18

KICK-OFF: Ipswich 0-0 Everton

We are finally underway at Portman Road.

the fans are crammed in and they will be hoping for a belter after what they have had to go through.

Let's hope it was worth the wait.

14:17

CHANCE! Newcastle 0-0 Brighton

Brighton are all over the place, but Alexander Isak can't capitalise.

The ball comes his way but he can't get decent contact on the ball and the chance goes begging.

He should do better.

14:14

'Villa don't deserve it'

Nine minutes in and we have two goals. Fulham are desperately unlucky. Morgan Rogers has a go from outside the box and it takes a wicked deflection off Calvin Bassey. Villa don't deserve it but they won't care'
14:13, 13'

Man United 0-0 Brentford

This does not look good...

Matthijs de Ligt is holding his head after taking a knee from Kevin Schade.

It was accidental by the German, but it's done some damage and it's hard to see the centre-back continuing.

Victor Lindelof is getting ready on the touchline.

14:10, 9'

Goal:Fulham 1-1 Aston Villa (Rogers 9')

The goals are flying in, as usual.

It doesn't take long for Aston Villa to level the scores and it's Morgan Rogers with it.

He lets fly from distance after a strong run, it takes a huge deflection and flies past Bernd Leno.

14:09, 8'

Goal:Southampton 1-0 Leicester (Archer 8')

That's just the start Southampton needed!

Cameron Archer taps them in front in the battle of the promoted sides on the south coast.

It's a lovely flowing move and the forward was never missing from there.

14:05, 5'

Goal:Fulham 1-0 Aston Villa (Jimenez 5')

Fulham are flying the flag for west London sides this week!

They have taken a leaf out of their neighbours' book and Raul Jimenez has them in front after just five minutes.

It's as simple as you like, Bernd Leno punts it over the top and the Mexican striker races away to score.

poor defending from Aston Villa.

14:05, 3'

CHANCE! Man United 0-0 Brentford

I nearly spoke way too soon!

Kevin Schade should put Brentford in front inside three minutes, but he fluffs his lines.

the ball is clipped to the back post where the German is steaming in and you just expect the net to bulge.

But no, he butchers the chance.

14:04, 2'

Man United 0-0 Brentford

Still no go after two minutes, what is going on??

It's given me a bit of an easier start than usual, normally I am scrambling all over the place.

Not yet, though. I'm sure it will come.

14:02, 1'

Man United 0-0 Brentford

Manchester United survive the first minute...

That may seem like an odd thing to say, but Brentford usually don't take long to score a goal.

The early run ends from the Bees, poor from them in my book.

14:00

KICK-OFF!

The afternoon's action is well and truly underway around the grounds, apart from Ipswich...

We have our eyes fixed on Old Trafford but will bring you all the updates from around the grounds.

Let's hope it's a cracking day!

13:58

‘We’re going to score in a minute’

‘We’re going to score in a minute,’ chant the Brentford fans before kick-off, in reference to the fact their team has scored inside the first two minutes in each of their last four Premier League games.
13:55

'Ten Hag on brink'

Welcome to Old Trafford, where we are stuck in a grindingly familiar cycle. Erik ten Hag keeps talking a good game, a better game than his players play, and yet still he teeters on the brink of the sack. Fail to beat a good Brentford team today and he will edge even closer to the precipice.
13:53

'Groans at Portman Road'

A groan has just erupted around Portman Road after an announcement that kick-off has been delayed by 15 minutes due to IT issues.
Sounds as though the issue is at the turnstiles and affecting supporters trying to enter Portman Road.
13:53

Ipswich match delayed

Oh dear, this doesn't look great...

Ipswich's match with Everton has been delayed by 15 minutes due to technology issues at Portman Road.

Let's hope they can fix that quickly, or surely the game will just keep getting delayed.

13:48

Just over 10 minutes until kick-off

The five 3pm kick-offs are just over 10 minutes away.

Can Erik ten Hag's Man United return to winning ways?

13:43

'A family affair at Old Trafford'

Jack Fletcher and Ethan Wheatley having a knockabout in the warm-up slightly away from the main group. It’s a testament to United’s academy staff, from head of academy Nick Cox down, that there is a pathway to keep putting these U21s into the first team mix.
Feels tricky to get youngsters involved at the minute with United’s performances rarely comfortable enough to chuck them in. But never say never.
Both start on the bench today. Jack’s brother Tyler is watching this one from the directors’ box with his mum while dad Darren is part of the coaching set-up here. A family affair.
13:42

Nearly 90 years of waiting...

Old Trafford is not a happy hunting ground for Brentford.

The Bees have not won at the Theatre of Dreams since 1937 and have lost each of their last five away games there.

Last season, they came within minutes of breaking the curse but then upstepped Scott McTominay.

The Scotsman is no longer in United red now though, so can the Londoners finally get what they crave?

Erik ten Hag will certainly hope not.

13:37

No Mainoo

As you now know, there is no Kobbie Mainoo available for Manchester United today.

He pulled out of England duty ahead of the international break, but it was not for one of those phantom injuries.

The muscle injury he picked up against Aston Villa will keep him out for up to four weeks.

If Erik ten Hag had hair, he would be pulling it all out.

A major blow at possibly the worst time in the Dutchman's tenure.

13:33

The fast-starters

If you're a Brentford fan, you simply can't be late getting to your seat in the stadium.

The Bees do not give fans a minute to settle down, they go all guns blazing from the off.

They have scored in the first two minutes of each of their past four Premier League matches.

I mean, in the first three of those they scored inside 60 seconds.

It's simply nutty how quickly they start matches. United will need to be ready from the first whistle.

Surely the Bees can't do it again today, can they?

13:30

Frank: 'Ten Hag gets too much criticism'

Thomas Frank, Brentford boss, speaking on Friday morning:

It's incredible how much scrutiny he's had to face. As a head coach, I acknowledge how it feels to be in a situation like this. I think [the criticism] is too much.
He's clearly a good coach, he's won two trophies in two seasons. But I understand how it is: if the team wins, the head coach is absolutely fantastic; if the team loses, the head coach is absolutely s***! Whereas it's probably somewhere in between.

'Ipswich will have their hands full against Dominic Calvert-Lewin'

Jacob Greaves has been one of Ipswich’s stand-out players this season but he isn’t in Kieran McKenna’s squad this afternoon. Luke Woolfenden and Cameron Burgess were the centre back pairing who helped Ipswich up into the top flight but have had to bide their time this season. They get their opportunity this afternoon and will have their hands full up against Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Everton’s lack of squad depth is there for all to see too. Two goalkeepers on the bench and no Jarrad Branthwaite in the squad. They look a completely different team defensively when he is at the back and it’s a shame we’ve been robbed of the chance to see him tussle with Ipswich striker Liam Delap.
Ali Al-Hamadi is the cover star on today’s programme. The Ipswich striker has connections to Merseyside - he grew up there after his family fled Iraq when he was still a baby.

Leicester Team News - Vardy captains the Foxes

Jamie Vardy is up front and will wear the armband for Steve Cooper's men today.

Southampton Team News - Archer plays... but there is no Brereton Diaz

Cameron Archer gets the nod up front, but there is no place in the squad for Ben Brereton Diaz.

'I fancy Hojlund to score today'

I arrived here (very) early this morning to catch Erik ten Hag given players and management here love to arrive well in advance to relax in the players’ lounge. Ten Hag was in high spirits and waved to the gaggle of fans who pitched up. It’s a reshuffle at the back from the defence we saw start the draw at Villa with Harry Maguire out injured and Noussair Mazraoui only fit enough for the bench after he underwent a heart procedure having complained of palpitations. Lisandro Martinez could have his hands full if Bryan Mbuemo decides to drift out to that side and make him do plenty of running.
Further up, Rasmus Hojlund leads the line and I fancy him to score today. First start of the season at Old Trafford for the Dane and he just had that pep in his step when he arrived. Let’s see. It’s, yet again, another massive game for Ten Hag to ease the pressure on his position.

Jhon Duran has been in sensational form this season, but he is still only on the bench with Ollie Watkins up front once again.

Man United Team News - De Ligt and Martinez return... but Evans KEEPS his place

Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez start for Man United, and Jonny Evans is also in the XI.

It looks like Martinez may play at left back, with Noussair Mazraoui only on the bench after his recent minor heart procedure.

Casemiro partners Christian Eriksen in midfield.

Team news coming up very soon...

Team news will be coming up at 1.45pm.

Ten Hag picked a very surprising XI against Aston Villa last time out. What team will be put out today?

12:37

Frank's United audition?

The question of who would replace Erik ten Hag if he was to leave Manchester United is still a tricky one to answer.

With Thomas Tuchel off the market, it's anyone's guess who they would go for.

One person Ineos could consider, though, is Thomas Frank.

The Brentford boss has worked wonders in west London and after a slight blip in form last year, he has the Bees buzzing again.

United's poor form is not the only reason people think they may struggle today, it's also due to how brilliant Brentford have been.

Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have both sung Frank's praises in the past, so Ratcliffe wouldn't go far wrong by at least considering him.

If Brentford manage to pull off a huge result today, then he may just put himself in pole position.

Would you want Frank as boss, United fans?

Ten Hag: 'Noise only coming from media'

Erik ten Hag, Manchester United boss, speaking on Friday:

Noise is only coming from some of you in the media, creating stories and fairy tales, and bringing lies.
Journalists didn’t believe me. I saw the reports. Of course, we are unhappy with the position where we are.
Ultimately, internally it is quiet and composed. We stick to the plan and are very convinced it will be a success.

Ten Hag's ticking time bomb

It feels like it could go off any time now.

Erik ten Hag's future at Manchester United continues to be shrouded in doubt week after week.

I bet Sir Jim Ratcliffe has had The Clash running through his head over the past few weeks.

While Ten Hag may still be safe in his job at the moment, he is certainly walking a tightrope.

United are winless in their last five games and have had their worst-ever start to a Premier League season after seven matches.

If they fail to win once again today, the speculation will only get worse for the Dutchman.

It's D-Day for him once more.

12:31

Today's menu

The headline may single out Manchester United's crunch match with Brentford, but that's not where all our focus will be today.

For fans of the other eight Premier League sides in action at 3pm, we have also got your covered, there is no need to worry.

There are certainly some tasty tussles to sink your teeth into today, so I think we should have a look at what's in store.

Here are today's 3pm kick-offs:

  • Fulham vs Aston Villa
  • Ipswich vs Everton
  • Manchester United vs Brentford
  • Newcastle vs Brighton
  • Southampton vs Leicester

Tick tock...

The creme de la creme of Premier League football on Saturday is back!

I adore the 3pm kick-offs, don't you?

They are a staple in English football, it would feel weird without them. Today, we have some real belters in store.

Newcastle will do battle with fellow European hopefuls, Brighton, while Fulham host in-form Aston Villa.

However, today's main draw is Manchester United's match with Brentford. Will it be Erik ten Hag's last in charge?

The clock seems to be ticking on his time at the club.

It's going to be one hell of a day, so strap yourselves in and join this ride.

Let's get cracking!
