It was one hell of an afternoon for Chelsea in the West Midlands and Noni Madueke specifically.

Enzo Maresca seems to have unlocked their attacking capabilities and that is a scary prospect for the rest of the league.

Enzo Maresca will be a very happy man right now.

The Spaniard has just made history with that result, is the first manager in Premier League history to see his team score six goals in his first away game in the competition.

It was one hell of a match. If he gets his Blues playing like that every week we are in for an entertaining season.

I am going to keep rinsing this line, Noni Madueke has to surely now adore Wolverhampton, right?

He has now scored more Premier League goals in Wolverhampton than he has at Stamford Bridge.

Madueke has only netted two league goals in west London...

Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Joao Felix will get the plaudits (and rightly so) but worth mentioning Levi Colwill too. Was 1-1 in 42nd minute when he stopped a certain goal from Matheus Cunha which would’ve given Wolves the lead. Crucial.

What a rollercoaster of a weekend for Noni Madueke.

Yesterday he made the mistake of calling Wolverhampton a 's***' place on his main Instagram.

He is then booed every single time he touches the ball in the first half, but then in the second he nets a hat-trick.

If you had told him that's how his weekend would have gone last week, I'd bet he would have laughed.

In all seriousness, Madueke was superb from the very first minute today.

Not only did he score three, but he terrorised the Wolves backline from the first whistle, he was really up for it.

An incredible afternoon for the winger.

Chelsea turned on the afterburners in the second half and the hosts simply had no answer.

After slating Wolverhampton last night, Noni Madueke will certainly love it now as he comes away with the match ball.

It was also a memorable day for Joao Felix who netted his first goal since returning to the Blues.

This is one of the most mental matches I have ever covered in my life.

I am still not certain whether the goals are going to stop...

Joao Felix marks his second debut with a goal and what a stunning counter-attacking move it is.

The Blues make the posts pay and fly forward after VAR rules out their third.

The ball is slid across to Felix to slam home in style.

This match has just been relentless and I couldn't guess how many more goals there will be.

Chelsea and Wolves have just delivered the best 45 minutes of the season by a mile.

I felt like I was typing non-stop, so much was going on. It's been a fantastic game of football.

Part of that is down to the lack of defending, but also due to the fieriness of the encounter.

Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez need to do so much better as midfield pairing. Wolves have been cutting through them ridiculously easily, while Matheus Cunha has had the freedom of Molineux. Plus, Chelsea’s defending has been calamitous, with Wolves men left all on their own.

The breathless half at Molineux comes to an end.

I have just witnessed one of the best halves of football I have seen in a very long time.

It took just two minutes for the drama to start and it carried on all the way into stoppage time.

Four goals, two fights, multiple cards and even a disallowed strike. It's had it all.

there is nothing to separate the sides as it stands.

The half is still going on as Joao Gomes is down with an injury for a few minutes.

This is a worry for Wolves if he stays down, they won't want to lose him.

Wolves are level again!

The crazy nature of this game continues as Jorgen Strand Larsen nets his first goal for Wolves.

The striker gets on the end of a well-worked free-kick to prod the ball home and Molineux erupts.

I simply can't believe what I am watching.

I don't want this half to finish, it has been box office football - the best of the season so far.

Both sides are going at each other's throats in a relentless attempt to get the win.

Who knows how this one will end!

Bournemouth lead at the break.

It's not exactly been a brilliant game, especially compared to what's going on in the West Midlands./

But the Cherries will be happy as Marcus Tavernier has them in front after the first half.

Newcastle have been poor, they haven't had a shot since the 12th minute.

Just as Cole Palmer celebrates giving Chelsea the lead, the board goes up to show six minutes of stoppage time.

My guess was one minute off.

Chelsea re-take the lead against the run of play and it's an exquisite display of how to counter-attack.

Robert Sanchez quickly sets the Blues on their way before Nicolas Jakcosn feeds Palmer.

First time Palmer lobs Jose Sa from outside the area and just like that the Blues are back in front.

Incredible football.

This match is just non-stop action, it's incredible.

Now Cole Plamer is in the book for complaining at Darren England, who doesn't take a fancy to what he said.

Wolves cut open Chelsea like a knife through butter and it nearly ends with a second goal for Matheus Cunha.

Mario Lemina dances through and slides the ball over to Matt Doherty, who pulls it back for Cunha.

Cunha takes his chance first time and it looks like it's destined for the net, but Levi Colwill deflects it onto the bar.

A stunning move that deserved a goal.

Darren England is not shy of using his cards anymore.

Malo Gusto is next in the book and Wolves now have a threatening free-kick on the edge of the area.

But Matheus Cunha's effort is comfortable for Robert Sanchez to hold onto.

Marcus Tavernier breaks the deadlock for the hosts!

Cunha runs over to Jackson and has a few words before it sparks a group mini-brawl.

Molineux responds with uproar. This is one hell of a fixture, who would have expected this?

Matheus Cunha hurst Chelsea once again!

10 minutes after seeing a goal disallowed, Cunha find the back of the net and this one will count.

Rayan Ait-Nouri breaks away after Wolves win the ball on the halfway line before slipping it to Cunha to do the rest.

A superb goal.

Matt Doherty is down and in some pain, it looks like he has hurt his thigh.

This match is going to have a lot of stoppage time, my guess would be seven minutes the way things are going.

This is a massive blow for Wolves if he can't continue.

Interesting there with Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa dropping down injured to force a break in play. Seems he is absolutely fine and suspicion could be that Wolves did it purposefully so that Gary O'Neil could have a tactical chat as his entire team came over to the touchline. Happened last season with a few Premier League clubs, but tough for referees to police.

Newcastle have started a lot better than a week ago, but still they needed Nick Pope just now to save from Evanilson.

The visitors aren't particularly convincing when trying to play out from the back at times. But Isak is having a lot of joy running Bournemouth's defenders at the other end. His final product has been short so far, however.

This match has come alive.

Evanilson comes close to scoring his first goal for the club but Nick Pope denies him with a smart save.

This guy is going to score a lot of goals for the Cherries.

Attempts by Wolves fans to put off Noni Madueke for a rude social media post about their town have backfired. The loud boos have only acted as fuel for the Chelsea winger who has been unplayable in the opening 20 minutes at Molineux.

I can barely keep up with this match, I think it's basketball I am watching, not football.

Noni Madueke causes problems at one end as he looks for Cole Palmer but Wolves manage to hook it clear.

The hosts break straight away from their clearance and Matheus Cunha slides wide from close range.

It's breathless.

This match is just relentless!

At one end Nicolas Jackson looks like he is through to add a second but Yerson Mosquera gets back to put shove him off the ball.

Wolves then go up the other end and have the ball in the net thanks to Matheus Cunha, but their joy is short-lived.

It really has been a feisty start to this match.

This is the incident that happened following the goal, Nicolas Jackson obviously upset Mario Lemina and Matheus Cunha.

Since then, this match had been 100 miles per hour.

Jorgen Strand Larsen has just called on the crowd to make more noise and they respond.

I mean, I'm not sure he needed to do that as Molineux was absolutely bouncing already.

They love it, though.

Yerson Mosquera has a glorious chance to equalise from a corner but he somehow misses the target.

When Chelsea scored, they celebrated in front of their own fans, then Nicolas Jackson broke away to go rub it in the faces of Wolves' supporters. That sparked a squabble between both sets of players.

Evanilson is not afraid of the Premier League, that's for sure.

Bournemouth's club record signing is putting himself about early on and Emil Krafth has already had to fly in to deny him.

It's been another week in which Newcastle have been in the news for off-field reasons, namely Kieran Trippier's desire to leave the club and a changing of the captaincy.

What has been lost a little is that they need to perform a lot better than they did against Southampton to beat Bournemouth here. Before Fabian Schar's red on the half hour, the Saints outplayed Newcastle, who looked some way short of their very best. Anyway, here come the teams!

Chelsea have not been very strong on the road in 2024, especially in defence.

The Blues have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 18 away games in all competitions.

The last time they did was in a win over Fulham last October - crazy!

If they want a win today, a clean sheet could be a necessity.

The Newcastle manager spent nearly half his life at Bournemouth as both a player and a manager.

11 of those years were as a player and the other 11 were as a manager, where he took them up to the Premier League for the first time.

It's not his first time back there as the Magpies boss, but I bet it still feels strange.

Romeo Lavia's hamstring irritation is unfortunate for the midfielder after his injury-plagued last campaign. Lavia was Chelsea's best performer in pre-season, starting all six of their friendlies.

Still a strong Chelsea side, nonetheless. Will be interesting to see how Mykahilo Mudryk gets on. So much potential to that player, but Maresca now the latest manager to try to unlock it.

I bet Pedro Neto will have a strange feeling when he steps out on the Molineux turf today. He spent five years doing it in a Wolves strip.

Well, today he will do it adorning the blue of Chelsea after his summer move to west London.

He hasn't been chosen to start the match, but it would not be a surprise if he was given the nod to come off the bench.

If he is then he will come on wearing a number seven shirt after Raheem Sterling was stripped of it this week.

He will most likely get a good reaction if he does come on, going by the fact he was cheered by some Wolves fans as he got off the Chelsea team bus a few moments ago.

It will be an emotional day for him.

The former club captain is all smiles on the south coast even though he is not starting for a second consecutive week.

After the news that he is interested in leaving the club was broken this week, it's not really a surprise that he is on the bench.

Will he be used by Eddie Howe today, or is Trippier on borrowed time?

Romeo Lavia is not in the Chelsea squad to face Wolves today and we are still awaiting an explanation.

The Belgian midfielder missed the majority of last season due to injury but impressed hugely during pre-season.

He got his chance to shine against Manchester City and certainly took it, he was their best player on the day.

So when the teamsheet came out and Lavia was not on it, it's fair to say many people are shocked.

If he is injured again that's a massive blow for Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca on the size of Chelsea's squad, on Wednesday:

They (Sterling and Chilwell) are training apart. We have a big squad and it is impossible to give them all minutes. If they are looking for minutes, then it is better if they leave. If they do not leave, then they have a contract here and they are Chelsea players.

Brutal? I don't think so. I try to be honest. I can repeat again if it's not clear: I spoke with Raheem before the (Manchester) City game. I said he is going to struggle to get minutes with us. With Chilly, I said he is a lovely guy, but he is going to struggle because of his position.

If you define this as “brutal”, it is up to you to decide. For me, it's not brutal, it's just honest. I'm not saying Raheem is not a good player but I prefer different kinds of wingers. This is the reason why.

If it's six-year contract, or a 20-year contract, I don't care. I'm just here to make the right decisions for the team. About the contract situation, it's not my job.

You like to say we have 42 or 43 players. Today's session is with 20 players. Yesterday's session was with 21. But the other 15 or 20, they are training apart. Chelsea players, yes, 42 or 43, sure, but they are not working with me every day. I don't see them so it's not a mess like it looks from outside. Absolutely not.

It's common knowledge that Chelsea have been happy-clappy with transfers ever since Todd Boehly acquired the club in 2022.

The forward who netted a hat-trick against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge is the only change to Wolves' side that lost to Arsenal last week.

Jorgen Strand Larsen once again leads the line for the hosts while Hwang Hee-Chan joins him in attack.

It's a tale as old as time in England, North vs South.

People who have grown up in the north of the country will always say that it's better than the south, and vice versa.

You won't suck me into this debate, you all get the gist. I'm sure it's an argument you have been involved in.

Well, we will see that battle play out on the football pitch today as the Premier League's most northern side, Newcastle, travels down to the most southern team, Bournemouth.

Usually, it's the team that hails from the north that pull the win out of the bag, they have only lost one of their last nine league matches against Bournemouth.

However, that defeat did come last season at the Vitality Stadium.

So, who will win the bragging rights?

What's that saying again, all bark no bite?

Well, Wolves haven't even mustered a whimper for a while.

Including the end of last season, Gary O'Neil's side have lost four Premier League matches on the bounce.

Think that's bad? This stat is even worse. They have only won one of their last 12 competitive matches.

Yep, they've been pretty poor in 2024.

O'Neil needs that to change today. Yes, it's only the second game of the season, but after being ransacked in the summer of his best talent, he needs his side to show they are still not to be messed with.

It's the perfect time to play this Chelsea side while they have not gelled under new management, they will need to take advantage.

Noni Madueke is certainly not the only Chelsea player to not be a fan of Wolverhampton.

The Blues record at Molineux in the last few years has been fairly poor, they haven't tasted victory there since 2019.
