Cost of replica shirts rockets over past five years with one Premier League club charging 56% more than in 2019

Supporting a Premier League football club can be a very expensive pastime.
The cheapest 2024-25 adult season ticket at Arsenal, for example, costs more than £1,000 following an increase of more than 10% from the 2023-24 campaign.
But it is not only match-going supporters who have been hit with significant price rises in recent years.
Fans wanting to support their team by buying a replica kit have seen prices rocket by up to 56% over the past five seasons.
According to research carried out by The Sun, Nottingham Forest have raised their prices more than any other team since 2019.

A replica adult Forest jersey in 2019 was priced at £48 but will now cost £75.
However, that is not the most expensive Premier League shirt on the market, with 10 of the 20 clubs charging at least £80.
Tottenham currently charge more than any of their top-flight rivals with a price tag of £85, one pence more than Chelsea, who value their adult shirts at £84.99.
Both Spurs and Chelsea have increased their prices by 31% over a five-year period, while price rises have been even steeper at Arsenal (33%), West Ham (36%), Brentford (36%), Everton (36%), Fulham (45%), Wolves (45%), Aston Villa (45%) and Forest (56%).

Consumer expert Jane Hawkes told The Sun that today's prices are 'not remotely justifiable', describing the increases as 'another own goal by mega-rich football clubs'.
The club whose shirt prices have increased the least since 2019 are Southampton, who are charging £60 today, up £5 (9%).
Meanwhile, the cheapest Premier League shirt this season can be bought for £59 from Ipswich Town.
Brentford are charging £60 but have tried to help fans keep costs down by bringing out a new shirt every two years, rather than one per season.
