Georgiev (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday.
Georgiev sat out Friday's 5-2 loss to Washington, and he won't be eligible for Monday's road matchup against Philadelphia. A timeline for his return has not been provided yet, but Justus Annunen should see the bulk of the starts until Georgiev is healthy. Colorado called up Kevin Mandolese on Sunday to occupy the backup role.

Miner was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Saturday.
Miner made a relief appearance Friday, stopping 12 of 13 shots en route to a 5-2 loss to Washington. Alexandar Georgiev (upper body) is day-to-day, which is why Miner was with the NHL club. Colorado doesn't play again until Monday's road game against Philadelphia, so Miner might be recalled if Georgiev is unavailable for that match.

Wood (upper body) logged an assist, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Capitals.
Wood was in a third-line role prior to his injury, but the simultaneous returns of Valeri Nichushkin (suspension) and Jonathan Drouin (upper body) have the Avalanche at their healthiest yet this season. That resulted in Wood playing on the fourth line, where he logged a meager 7:53 of ice time. Wood is up to two points, 20 shots on net, 10 hits and eight PIM over 11 contests, but his fantasy value will be limited if he can't carve out at least middle-six minutes moving forward.

Avalanche's Valeri Nichushkin: Returns to action Friday
Nichushkin made his season debut in a 5-2 loss to the Capitals on Friday.
Nichushkin received 19:27 of ice time, and he accounted for one shot, one block and a minus-3 rating. It was the Russian forward's first game of the 2024-25 campaign after being suspended for six months. Nichushkin will likely need some time to get his feet under him, but when he does, he should produce at close to a point-per-game pace.

Girard registered the primary helper on Parker Kelly's first-period marker. The 26-year-old Girard has been productive lately, as he's delivered a goal and four assists over his last six games. The left-shot blueliner is skating alongside Josh Manson in the top four, and he's second among Colorado's defensemen in points behind only Cale Makar. Girard has compiled 10 points (one goal), 16 shots, 34 blocks, 15 hits and a plus-2 rating through 18 games.

Kovalenko got on the board with an even-strength tally in the second period, but that was the last of Colorado's offensive output for the night. Nichushkin (suspension) is listed on the Avs' roster ahead of Friday's matchup with Washington, per the NHL media site.
Nichushkin was previously expected to return for Friday's contest but still needed to be reinstated, a move that appears to have gone off without a hitch. With the 29-year-old winger set to make his 2024-25 season debut, he figures to slot into a second-line role alongside Casey Mittelstadt and Artturi Lehkonen and should see some power-play minutes as well.
