5 Regular People Who Totally Broke The Internet This Week

    Sometimes, the best lessons can be learned from TikTok.

    1. "Incredible." This woman was praised after sharing how she prepared her COVID-positive mother for the ER by sending a detailed medical history, a list of emergency contacts, and more with her mom.

    @kate.escaped

    My mom has COVID. I’m preparing her for the emergency room while we wait for the ambulance #covid #covid19 #latexallergy #emergencyroom #asthma #cantbreathe #bpdtiktok #neurodivergent #lgbt🌈 #adhdinwomen

    As Kate Fenno waited for the ambulance to pick up her mother, she decided to quickly jot down information about her mother's health for the doctors and nurses in the case that she would be too incapacitated to provide that information herself.
    Many health professionals on TikTok praised Kate for this initiative. "It's so validating and comforting to know that we were as helpful as possible to take some of that burden off of nurses and EMTs," she said.

    2. It's👏🏽 about👏🏽 time!👏🏽 This TikToker went viral for pointing out how damaging "purity culture" sex education is to young girls, and she makes extremely valid points.

    @thezolyspirit

    I think I’m entering the religious trauma era of my content. We’ll see. #exvangelical #exfundie #deconstructing

    Zoë Tyler recently made a TikTok acting out what sex education would be like for boys if they taught it in the same way they teach girls — with object/sex metaphors. By acting out these lessons for boys instead of girls, it shows how clearly ridiculous, unequal, and sexist this type of sex education is.

    3. What a world of difference.😱 This nurse made a video comparing his pay as a staff nurse to his pay as a travel nurse, and holy moly, the latter pays wayyy more.

    In a recent TikTok, RN Alex Kim showed viewers his weekly paychecks — one of $827 from his staff nurse job, and the other of $3,627 from his travel nurse job. The reason behind this jump is likely because of the increased demand for travel nurses as hospitals struggle to maintain their staff. Read more about Alex's decision to be a travel nurse here.

    4. What's the view like from up there? This 7'1" TikToker is going viral for answering that exact question by showing people what things look like from his super-tall perspective.

    @bigbeaubrown

    I didn't fit on my plane so they gave me first class. It was probably because of my @cuts hoodie and joggers. They said dang this dude got CLASS. First class was still tight. #fyp #travel #tall

    Meet Beau Brown, a cinematographer who also happens to be 7' freaking 1".😱Beau uses his TikTok platform to share what everyday activities look from his perspective above the clouds. For example, he once got turned away from a flight because he was too tall to fit in the plane! See more from his view here.

    5. And lastly... The cherry emoji means what?! This 30-year-old college student broke down what some emojis really mean to Gen Z'ers. And millennials, you better brace yourselves.

    Scarlett Alexandra attends Savannah College of Art and Design and lives in a dorm with a bunch of Gen Z'ers. During her time at school, she's picked up on some Gen Z emoji lingo — 👍 is passive aggressive, 🍒 means titties, and apparently 🥺 can mean "I'm horny." All I gotta say is 🤷🏽‍♀️, unless that has some coded meaning too...
