Here's A Definitive Ranking Of Every "Greenleaf" Character, And You Can't Change My Mind

Judee is ranked as the worst character on Greenleaf because everything about her is phony. Do we even know the real Judee? My biggest issue with her is how spoiled and annoying she is. Bye, Judee!

I think there are some holes in Bob Whitmore's backstory, but there's still enough to know that I wouldn't want him to lead any church of mine. The fact that he takes all the credit for Phil's ideas (and sermons) is simply unfair.

I think Charity is the only one who couldn't see Jabari for who he was. We all knew where their relationship was going. I wasn't surprised at how he reacted when Charity prioritized her child over a gospel tour. It was clear from the beginning that Jabari couldn't handle the responsibility of a child being in the picture, and I was always taught that when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.

Well, her last name says it all. Honestly, I don't blame her for trying to get justice for her family, but breaking up a happy home? Not cool. You have to admit, though, she's a force to be reckoned with.

Honestly, I was on Jacob's side for all of seasons 2 and 3. He showed growth, and he really matured as a father, husband, and leader. But then I learned that he saved his side chick's number under "Joyce Meyer" and I can't unsee it. It just makes you wonder... Sidenote: That baby is his!

Her ambition is questionable, and she seems to lack compassion. You don't want to get on her bad side because she'll never forgive you. She's sneaky but fierce, and you have to admit that Deacon Connie Sykes has the best outfits.

Sweet Charity! Her family overlooks her feelings and her pain. I couldn't believe that Lady Mae uttered the words "You don't know what real problems are" when Charity lost a child, husband, career, and fiancé. I think Charity struggles with being content and knowing who she is, and unfortunately, it's at the expense of her family. She really is a loving person, and she just might be able to preach. Never mind, just keep singing, Charity. She may not be the worst character, but when she betrayed her own sister, she certainly became the most annoying.

As mature as she appears on the outside, Nikki still has a lot of growing up to do. She's not as confident as she pretends to be, and she's combative in almost every scene. I'm mostly disappointed by how conniving she is, but to her defense, she'll do anything for love, and we've all been dangerously in love at some point.

I can understand the choices Basie made in an attempt to seek revenge. He has at least always been up-front about his plan, and I can appreciate his boldness. He also has some pretty thought-provoking ideologies, and it's a shame that Basie and Bishop couldn't work together in leading a church. There would be no H&H if Basie and Bishop were to join forces! Calvary-Triumph over Harmony and Hope, anyone?

Kevin is sweet and loving, but he lost me as a fan when he abandoned his son. That was so heartbreaking. I don't have a grudge toward him anymore, but c'mon, Kev, why'd you let me down?

Tasha deserved better. Period. She regretted her plan with Rochelle and Basie to take down the Greenleaf family. However, this awareness only drew her closer to loving someone else's husband. That was her biggest flaw. Aside from that, Tasha is pretty down-to-earth, and I wish she hadn't been put in the position to set up the Greenleaf family in the first place.

Dante started off being a pretty cool guy. With all of his accomplishments, I expected him to be more cocky, and he wasn't. It's still unclear whether his intentions with Sophia were good or bad. In the end, I think he might just be better off with Nikki.

Mavis needed more screen time. In the few episodes she was in, I could sense a lot of trauma and neglect. It's a shame she grew up isolated from her family and mistreated by them. However, we can't ignore the ongoing affair she had with her sister's husband. No, Mavis, no!

You're probably surprised that I didn't rank the bishop as the best character. What can I say? We all have our flaws. One thing I love about Bishop Greenleaf is that when he makes a mistake, he'll go to great lengths to make things right. Although I can't easily look past his poor decisions with Mavis and Rochelle, I must say that he's the most wise and sincere TV pastor a viewer could ask for.

A.J. has such a cool demeanor, and he has kept it real almost every second of his screen time — minus the whole identity thing. And since we're on the subject, who's the lookalike that took the fall for him? It almost feels unfair to rank A.J. because of how troubling his life has been. He's got a lot of things to work out, but he's strong and I think he'll pull through.

OK, so hear me out. I don't think Phil is a bad person. This man has waited 20 years for his chance to be recognized for his true talent. Writing books, creating sermons, and pretty much being the voice behind the man in power is not an easy position to take. If your chance to get the credit you deserve finally arrived after 20 years of being in someone's shadow, would you choose love instead? Maybe so, but the photos of Charity on the fridge prove that he at least wasn't lying about his affection for her. Yes, he was wrong for how he went about handling the breakup, but I can't fault him for trying to get the professional credit he deserves.

I've just decided to group Noah and Isabel together because they're basically the same person, it seems. Noah has no true sense of morality without Isabel's guidance. Isabel often speaks for the both of them, and it's obvious that Noah has some loose ends that he needs to tie with Grace. I don't want to be right, but I think Noah and Grace will eventually end up together.

Lady Mae is sometimes an emotionally reserved and complicated character. She really piles on the strength, and for that reason we don't always get the chance to understand her fully. However, she has grown the most, I think, of all the characters. I only wish she weren't so ruled by her flaws; they have kept her from truly loving herself and caused her to withhold love from her family. Overall, I think I love her one-liners more than anything else. She's the clapback queen that I aspire to be.

To be honest, when Aaron first arrived, I didn't know what to think of him. I thought at any minute he'd retaliate against the Greenleaf family, but actually he turned out to be a great support system, legally and personally. He's so chill. How can you not love Aaron?

She's smart and creative, and she'll tell you like it is. To her defense, she has put up with Jacob's mess for a long time. "Alexa, play Joyce Meyer!" See what I did there? In Season 4, we see Kerissa having a moment of her own infidelity, and I'm disturbed at how hyper-focused her affair is in Season 5. As much as I wanted Jacob and Kerissa to stay married, I'm convinced that they're better off separate. I feel like they're both toxic, but I can't blame Kerissa for fighting for what she deserves.

My heart goes out to Sophia because of her life-shattering events throughout the show. I feel like she never had a fair chance to build a foundation, and her relationships have fallen apart because of that. Remember the first series when Sophia and Zora called each other "Soulsters"? If only we could go back in time when Sophia was getting baptized and leading the Little Saints.

Zora brings the laughter to the show. She's so full of light and humor, and it's refreshing, especially when the family undergoes the most trying times. I think we were all counting down to when she would leave Isaiah. Since then, she has matured and grown tremendously, and I think she's one of the most thoughtful characters in the series. But if we find out that she spilled Sophia's secrets to Nikki, then forget all the sweet words I said about her. *Insert side eye.*

What I love most about Darius is that he's a no-nonsense kind of guy, and he's romantic. What more could you ask for? My only worry is that he's stuck in his ways and will risk losing true love for the sake of not compromising. And just so it's clear, I ship Darius and Grace, but if he wants to have a romantic future with a pastor, he's going to have to come back to church. Just saying.

We all need a friend like Karine in our lives. Sure, her secretarial skills may be questionable at times, but her loyalty is strong. She's always stepping up when it matters most, and that's why she's ranked as one of the best.

Carlton is one of the best characters on this entire series. No matter what's thrown at him, he remains true to himself. He's a trustworthy, caring, and forgiving friend with incredible talent and great advice. Be like Carlton!

Grace is the best character in the Greenleaf series. Don't @ me. I have so much love and adoration for her because she has often had to stand in the face of adversity, sometimes coming from her own mother, uncle, and sister. She has endured a painful life and has transformed despite that past. She's honest and persistent, and no matter what, her heart is always aimed toward finding truth and doing the right thing. Even when she falls short of that, her flaws reveal a beautiful character we can all relate to. She's human!
