iPhone face," or "smartphone face," refers to actors whose faces just seem too "modern" to fit believably in period pieces. Basically, it's someone who looks like they know what an iPhone is.
You know how some actors in period pieces just look like they're actually from that era? For example, in Pride and Prejudice (1995), Colin Firth is totally believable as a Victorian man.
The opposite of this is "iPhone face," or "smartphone face," aka actors whose faces just seem too "modern" to fit believably in period pieces. Basically, it's someone who looks like they know what an iPhone is.
