Scott Jerabek is a nonresident senior fellow at the Forward Defense practice of the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security and the director of global threat response in the Global Security mission at Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, which manages and operates the US Department of Energy’s Kansas City National Security Campus. With more than five thousand employees in Kansas City, Missouri and Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Kansas City National Security Campus provides diverse engineering, manufacturing, and secure sourcing services for national security.

In this position, Jerabek is responsible for Global Security’s operational capabilities, program management, and research and development efforts in the Global Threat Response division to transform custom technology and products into field-ready solutions. Prior to this role, Jerabek was the vice president of engineering at the Astronics AeroSat division focusing on advanced satellite communications and technologically advanced solutions for multiple government agencies.

He served in the US Navy for more than thirty-five years, most recently as deputy director of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency; commander, US Strategic Command Standing Force Headquarters for Elimination of Weapons of Mass Destruction; and the deputy director of the Center for Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction. In the latter role, he led a global team supporting all mission areas helping the US Department of Defense, the US government, and international partners to counter and deter weapons of mass destruction and improvised threat networks. His first flag tour was Commander, Navy Warfare Development Command. Jerabek also served as director, J7, Theater Engagement at US Southern Command, overseeing country support in foreign military sales and humanitarian response activities in South and Central America. Jerabek served as chief of staff of US Forces, Japan during Operation Tomodachi. He has two combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Jerabek earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln; an MBA from Baker University School of Professional and Graduate Studies; and a master of national security while a fellow at the US Army School of Advanced Military Studies. Jerabek is a board member of the Nebraska Defense Research Corporation and the National Museum of the Surface Navy at the Battleship Iowa.
