I rarely need to send a fax, but the two-four times per year that I do, this app has been very effective and is free at this level of usage.

Its a great deal for 9.99 a month, as I usually send and receive a few faxes per month. Makes things really simple. Also includes a e-signature suite with HelloSign, so I can download, sign, upload and fax it out. The only improvement I could think of would be new, dedicated mobile apps that are as useful as the website. Right now,the mobile apps do not even come close. Thats the only thing preventing me from giving a 5th star.

How did HelloFax ever get such a high rating. I started using it three weeks ago. A week and a half ago, it became impossible to enter the "Faxes" portal to check on incoming faxes or to send one. I complained once, twice, three, four times and all I got in return was, "We are sorry for the inconvenience." So this is what you call a business fax service? It's horrible.

This app and their website are awful. I get to a page to sign in from the app. I'm asked to sign in and choose google credentials as my option. It routes back to the sign-in page. I think "maybe I need to configure an account first" which is silly, but lots of websites do this. I click "Sign up" and I'm signed in with google. I try to use a document in drive via the link and am told I need to install the app that I used to get there in the first place. Signing up on the website (I wanted to pay them!) gives me no ability to choose an area code for a number to receive faxes. I instead get the little "loading" circle until it's done loading, then get nothing. I tried the free version and am told to choose a fax number, but see no options. This is terrible. Uninstalling and I'll go with another service.

One annoyance is that their app always logs you out so it takes an extra step and a few more seconds to send a fax. It also pops up in your face every 15 min or so and you have to click ok every time if you don't want to be logged out. Very annoying. Can you imagine having to log in to your physical fax machine and wait 10 sec more every time you want to fax a document? Second thing to watch out for is if you are anal about saving your fax documents in your google drive so you have control over your docs, make sure you check every now and then that your gdrive integration is working. Sometimes they just disconnect for no apparent reason their customer service couldn't explain. I lost 6 months of fax backup coz of this and I have to download those missed faxes one by one now coz they don't have a bulk download option. Last annoyance would be that you always have to write the prefix (1) for country code. They should ask us what our default country code is. And based on our company profile that they have, it would say I'm in the US. Bottom line is: Hellofax' UX Department seriously needs revamp.

If you want to receive free faxes (up to 10 pages a month) with a phone number that is randomly given to you, then you go with eFax Free. That's the only one after all these years that still offers a free fax number to receive. Otherwise, services like HelloFax have to charge for receiving faxes due to the cost of owning a telephone number. HelloFax is great for sending faxes. The best format for fax is black & white either a Word doc, Google doc, or PDF. Anything that is color does not translate well to a fax number as they have to be converted to black & white. Bottom line, stick to B&W if you want a reliable delivery. I once sent a blown up picture of driver's license to a rental agency. They received the color page as a giant BLACK print out.

Just used Hello Fax for the first time to sign and send a contract to one of my clients. I LOVE this! I love that it's free and that it's so easy to integrate my signatures and initials into the document. I used to use DocuSign but paid a small fortune (for a small business owner like me, anything over $100 is a "small fortune) a year for the privilege of using it not-very-often. Thanks for creating this and for integrating it into Google Apps! I haven't used its full functionality -- e.g., I haven't used it to fax anything, although, really, who still uses faxes??? -- but I think this is going to be one of my fave apps from now on.

I just tried to use it and found it remarkably confusing. I believe they tried to make it simple by being able to merge with my Google Drive, but it ended up making it more complicated. This is my story with this app. I found out about this app through wikihelp. I decided to try it out. I went through all the steps. Download HelloFax App. Sign into my Google Drive. Approve them access to limited profile visible. (I even restarted Chrome at this point). I went to launch the app and the first thing I see is it requesting a user name and password. I click the icon below where it says, "Sign in with Google". I click that, nothing happened. I tried to use my google sign in username and password, nothing happened. I then click, "Sign Up" in the corner, suddenly I am signed in?!?! What? So I say, "Cool, who am I to argue with results." I then click, "Send a fax." Then click upload from Google Drive. A popup window says that I need to install the app and run it from there!?! I ended up having to make extra steps to download my document from Google Drive, and then upload it from my PC. Not very easy, but I do like the ability to sign and write a text note.
