Department Wisconsin Forestry Center Department Description The Wisconsin Forestry Center (WFC) is dedicated to serving the needs of Wisconsin¿s forestry community to promote vibrant, sustainable forests and forest-based economies through: Coordinating, creating, and disseminating professional training, certificate, and credentialing programs.
Devising and implementing novel approaches to workforce recruitment and development.
Conducting stakeholder-directed applied research.
Partnering with the professional forestry community to develop and administer public outreach.

JOB DETAILS: Position Summary The High School Program Manager provides strong leadership for developing and managing workforce-focused forestry education for high-school classrooms as a key part of the Wisconsin Forestry Careers Coalition (WFCC).
This position provides oversight for curriculum development, evaluation, and revisions.
This program also includes providing professional development to teachers and outreach education to K-12 students and communities.
The program manager supervises outreach staff including student staff; develops and oversees the program budget; engages in strategic program development aligned with the WFC and WFCC missions; promotes stable and productive relationships between the WFC, university, and educational and forest industry partners; and strives to ensure access to educational services for diverse audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications Bachelor¿s degree in Education/Environmental Education, Forestry/Natural Resources, or related field.
Strong background in creating workforce and/or applied curriculum and writing lessons and activities aligned to state and national standards.
Understanding of forestry concepts/skills and forestry-related careers.
Experienced in program and/or project management.
Preferred Qualifications Master¿s degree in education or forestry/Natural Resources.
Demonstrated experience in teaching and curriculum development at the high school level Skills in written, oral, and interpersonal communication with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people internal and external to a university setting.
Experience with state certification of the high school curriculum such as CTE, work-study, youth apprenticeship.
