Aquatic Specialist

Summary:
Provides assistance to Aquatic Management in all aspects of aquatic programming.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists Aquatics Manager with the training, supervising, and evaluating of Aquatics personnel.
Directly supervises all aspects of the Aquatics Department and communicates with the Aquatics Manager.
Teaches aquatic programs including but not limited to swim skills, water aerobics, and lifesaving classes.
Responds to emergency situations, following established emergency protocols.
Conducts monthly in-service with Aquatics team.
Maintains accurate records concerning patrons and personnel, and reports concerns to Aquatics Manager.
Provides open communication with guests, participants and their families, and aquatics team.
Assumes full management responsibilities of the aquatic’s facility in the absence of the Aquatics Manager and Assistant Manager.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
HS Diploma or GED, 18 years in age
1-2 years Aquatic or Lifeguard experience
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Computers
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to motivate others
Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
Preferred Requirements:
Red Cross Lifeguard certification and/or Lifeguard Instruction Certification preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire
1-2 years Aquatic Instructor experience, and/or Water Swim Instructor Certification preferred
