VIRESA, FPT Online, and Funtap Sign MoU to Advance Vietnam's Esports Development On December 10, 2024, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Recreational and Electronic Sports Association (VIRESA), FPT Online Services Corporation (FPT Online), and Funtap Joint Stock Company (Funtap) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster sustainable growth and professionalization of esports in Vietnam, with a particular focus on games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). Under the agreement, the three parties committed to long-term and regular collaboration in strategic consultancy, community building, and promoting the development of Vietnam's recreational and competitive esports scene. The goal is to encourage systematic and holistic progress for the domestic esports industry The partnership also extends to seeking and collaborating with reputable game developers and esports organizations to bring international esports games to Vietnam. The focus will be on fostering joint projects and promoting business development activities, including workshops, tournaments, sponsorships, and creating operational platforms for esports. The agreement also involves pooling resources to expand esports arenas and competition platforms in Vietnam. Specific to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the three parties aim to provide optimal conditions for national teams during training and competition at regional and international tournaments such as the SEA Games, ASIAD, and Asian Esports Games (AEG).

The M6 Summit featured discussions on global growth, commercialization, and the development of esports, particularly for women. It also included announcements regarding MOONTON Games' plans and the potential of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) in the Southeast Asian market. Notably, MLBB was officially announced as a medal event at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33), which will take place in 2025 in Thailand, featuring both men’s and women’s team competitions. Previously, at SEA Games 32, the Vietnamese women’s national team excelled, securing a bronze medal in the women’s team MLBB event.

The 4th ECEA Esports Championship East Asia is took place in Chengdu, featuring the participation of representative from China, Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong - China. This event is a key brand project under the framework of the China-Japan-Korea Cultural Industry Forum, with strong support and business guidance from the industry development department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of The People's Republic of China. At the same time, the "2024 Esports and Cultural Tourism Development Conference" was jointly hosted in Chengdu, inviting Japan, Korea, countries in Southeast Asia, and countries in the Middle East to jointly promote the co-development of the esports industry.
