Addressing Chairman of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) – Mr. Phan Xuân Dũng, Chairman of the Vietnam Animal Husbandry Association – Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, and representatives from other key organisations in the field, Mr. Nguyen Hong Uy supported shared viewpoints and provided constructive feedback on:  🔹 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Emphasising the need for clarification of key terms – “basic characteristics of standards” & “enterprise standards (TCCS)”; Highlighting shortcomings in the current law & suggesting incorporation of them into the proposed amendments.  🔹 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Recommending clearer provisions on the self-declaration of product standards; Opposing mandatory requirements for barcodes, QR codes, and traceability codes in the law to alleviate administrative burden; Exempting export goods and imported raw materials for export goods from requirements applicable to domestically circulated goods in Vietnam.  EuroCham Vietnam remains dedicated to impactful advocacy efforts and is working towards creating a more sustainable and supportive business environment in Vietnam. ✉️ Interested in joining the Nutritional Foods Group? 📰 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀: 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 On 11 December 2024, the Ministry of Justice hosted an Assessment Meeting on the Proposal to revise the Law on Food Safety, chaired by Deputy Minister Mrs. Dang Hoang Oanh. The event brought together representatives from the Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), and Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT). Representing EuroCham, Advocacy Manager Mrs. Diep Truong highlighted the significant progress since the law’s implementation, including the adoption of over 2,000 standards, many of which align with international norms. Proposed revisions aim to strengthen consumer protection, support businesses, and ensure alignment with trade agreements such as the CPTPP and EVFTA. Discussions centred on improving inspection methods, clarifying management responsibilities, and balancing rigorous safety standards with manageable business costs, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing Vietnam’s food safety framework. #EuroChamVietnam #News
