Some really insightful analysis from TSE in the past few days looking at the real cost of power (https://lnkd.in/euYsGdVC) and the real cost of EV's (https://lnkd.in/eDVCSsMp) I'm inclined to believe what TSE say as they look closely at the data and don't mindlessly follow the "prescribed" mantra. The question we all need to be asking ourselves is why would anyone be happy to pay a premium for energy? And what happens to economies with ever increasing energy prices. For example, the flip side would be the US, a great example of what happens to an economy which has low energy prices and has energy security! Hi energy costs will drive energy intense business out of the UK. It's already happening! Taking this, combined with the past two government's policies for "windfall tax" raids on the UK's indigenous oil and gas producers (They both seemed to be fine with excessive profits in the financial sector!). This is a recipe for a failing economy, not today or tomorrow but metaphorically "the day after". Kore Energy Market Report for September 12th: NBP gas prices are back in decline, with October-24 down by 1.80p at 85.51p per therm. Despite muted wind output driving up gas-for-power demand, the GB system remains well-supplied. Day Ahead has also slipped, last trading at 85.75p per therm. Meanwhile, crude oil continues to climb, with Brent last trading at $71.56/bbl, supported by concerns over Hurricane Francine's potential disruption to U.S. oil production.
