What a monumental launch! 🚀 ✨ 🌍
Sentinel-1C has launched! 🚀 Part of Europe’s #Copernicus programme, the new radar satellite supported by the UK will use advanced radar technology to provide continuous imaging over land and sea, day and night, and even through cloud cover. 🛰️🌍 Once in orbit, Sentinel 1C will work in partnership with Sentinel 1A, which is already in space, to deliver the Sentinel 1 mission, imaging the Earth and generating large amounts of data that is fed into the various services provided by Copernicus. UK industry and expertise have contributed to Sentinel-1C, including the electronics subsystem of the Synthetic Aperture Radar instrument from Airbus Defence and Space, the receiver of the Automated Identification System payload from Honeywell UK, and Sentinel-1C's battery from Enersys ABSL 🛰️ The UK's participation in #Copernicus also ensures the data remains freely available to government bodies, businesses and the science community. 🌍 Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/eKaR3fWN
