🥦 Plans for next year and beyond for UK food system The IGD (Institute of Grocery Distribution) has released a plan as to how the UK food industry and Government can achieve ambitious 2050 emission targets. IGD believes this marks a significant step forward towards action on greenhouse gas emissions in the food and drink sector, which is still the UK's largest manufacturing industry. Also in this edition of Food Management Today magazine, The Food and Drink Federation explains its ambitious strategy, which is underway to help food manufacturers act on both the causes and consequences of climate change. It also welcomes the IGD's initiative. Alongside our Fruit & Vegetable Processing feature, CEO of the British Frozen Food Federation Rupert Ashby explains why he thinks frozen fruit and veg are a ripe environment for innovation. The FMT Food Industry Awards are open for product nominations and voting. But you need to be in it to win it in 2025! Full information on how to vote and information about each category starts on pg 21. Keep an eye on our website at https://lnkd.in/eX2XFXhy for more information.
