The North East of England is a globally significant location for the design, development and manufacture of electrified powertrain technologies. EV North, powered by the North East Automotive Alliance, will capitalise on the mega trend within the automotive industry of powertrain electrification. This industry led cluster group will build upon existing regional assets, capabilities and skills in battery technology, power electronics and electric motors and increase the level of research, development and innovation activities to deliver more and better jobs; supporting the North East’s transition to become a true automotive powerhouse and the location of choice for automotive investment in Europe. Our 3 core priorities are: 1. Promote the North East of England raising the profile of the region within industry and government. 2. Increase collaboration in order to stimulate more research, development and innovation activity in the region 3. Help increase public and private sector investment into the region.
