Renault Vans PRO+ UK UK - Vans from their car dealership network, are they fit for purpose? I have on several occasions attempted to book several of our brand new, and within warranty, Renault Masters in for warranty repair at Stoneacre Motor Group Renault in both Rotherham and Chesterfield. Their Rotherham site more often than not, accepts the booking only to later call back and cancel the booking as ‘they don’t have the space for vans’ and/or sometimes we are told ‘we only have one ramp that can lift them and we can’t tie that up’ with your repair. Recently (this week) Stoneacre Rotherham cancelled our booking and moved it to their Chesterfield branch (inconvenient due to distance but it’s significant as it’s an engine oil leak with around 15,000 miles on it). Today they contacted us to cancel it citing to my staff member ‘we don’t carry out Renault warranty repairs at this branch’, despite being a Renault franchised service centre (reference, their own website). So what happens now? We have nearly new Renault Master emergency ambulances requiring warranty repairs, some with under 20,000 miles on them. Is the Renault (yellow) network ‘fit for purpose’ to be selling and servicing Renault Vans? Where does this leave a consumer with regards to their legal right for warranty repair. It’s a question I am pondering ahead of taking further action as I feel these vehicles and their Car & Van dealership network are ‘not fit for purpose’ based on this. I have requested their group Aftersales directors contact details to discuss this further (I am still waiting for these). I recommend my connections strongly consider the Aftersales support and capabilities in their operating area ahead of purchasing ambulances on the Renault master chassis.
