School inspection handbook - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) If you are implementing the statutory WTTISA guidance, Working together to Improve School Attendance - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) you will have all the information ready for OFSTED - and this is all information that all of your SLT should have a handle on anyway. Your approach to attendance should reflect you overall ethos and culture and have "support first" embedded in all that you do. Capture what you are doing well.

Great news from UCAS. Level 3 apprenticeships are to be recognised with UCAS points, demonstrating to learners and universities the value of the work completed. This means that their is career progression opportunity through higher education that might otherwise have not been apparent or even available. So, a young person completes an apprenticeship, in a skilled trade, with successful completion and experience gained in work, opportunities to return to study for progression for example into business development or business management.

Department for Education recommends 2.8% Teacher Pay Rise in England for 2025-26 Earlier today the DfE published the evidence submitted to the School Teachers Review Body (STRB), the organisation that evaluates the case for teacher pay rises in England. This is forecast to be a 0.2% increase in real pay as inflation is forecast to be 2.6% over the period. There are no new announcements for funding, so this pay will have to be funded from existing budgets although these were increased in the November Budget. The submitted evidence suggests that a suite of productivity initiatives will help schools find savings to help fund the rise. It is worth noting that the government has stuck to its pledge of submitting its evidence much earlier to allow for the STRB to complete its work earlier and schools to have more time to plan budgets for next academic year. In contrast, the last Conservative government submitted their evidence to the STRB in February 2024. What does this mean for schools? Well nothing yet. This is just the DfE's recommendation. The STRB will also take evidence from trade unions such like the National Education Union and NASUWT as well as membership organisations like the National Governance Association. Once all this evidence has been considered, they will then make a recommendation to government. Most likely to be around April 2025. What has been the reaction from unions? Initial reaction from union leaders has not been positive with NEU General Secretary Daniel Kebede saying “NEU members fought to win the pay increases of 2023 and 2024. We are putting the Government on notice. Our members care deeply about education and feel the depth of the crisis. This won’t do.” Association of School and College Leaders General Secretary Pepe Di'lasio has called the submission "extremely disappointing" and "inadequate". At the time of writing NASUWT and NAHT - The school leaders' union had not released a statement. There is still a long way to go until the final recommendation but early indications seem to suggest that this has not gone down well and these comments would seem to suggest that the honeymoon period is over for Bridget Phillipson.  https://lnkd.in/ddYsjhJn

When you combine these two factors it can easily lead to overburdened staff; which can lead down the path towards burnout and compassion fatigue. So, we offer cost-effective, context-specific capacity for you. This can be utilised to plug a hole temporarily or create new capacity to support current members of staff and officers.
